About
Unlike many other courses in Phoenix, the course at the Toka Sticks Golf Club was not done in a traditional desert-style. It is known amongst locals for having very fast greens, many of which are elevated. The old Toka Sticks course was originally a nine-hole course built in 1945 but in addition to making it an 18-hole, championship course, it has had many renovations in the years since to make it a more challenging and interesting course. There are stately trees present on the course call for straight shots in order to reach the narrow fairways. Two lakes are situated on the course that create water hazards that come into play on sever holes. There are also several well-placed sand bunkers throughout. Toka Stick Golf Club also offers a short game area, a putting green and a driving range.

Great day
Nice wide open course. Liked the greens. Faster than they look and nice layouts. About 4 hours so it much waiting. Good value
Worst customer service
First to tee off of the day at 8:20am, by hole 11 first gentleman came by and said pick up the pace ( mind you we haven't seen anyone behind us all day). Hole 14 another gentleman comes by and says my boss advised me to tell you guys to pick up the pace, again have yet to see anyone behind us waiting. Hole 17 again a different gentleman comes by and say same thing his boss told us to speed it up. Pretty much ruined the back 9 of the course. We had Carts returned and in clubhouse by 12:15pm. 3hrs and 55min 4some round on a 6700ft course doesn't seem too bad to me. Will never play here again or advise anyone to play here.
Always an enjoyable course.
It's a fun course, some easy and hard holes but overall, a very fun course that I always enjoy playing.
A very long day of play
While the layout can cause some bottlenecks and pace of play in the winter is often 4.5 hours, it was an almost 5 hour round today. While we like the course and it's close to home, that's too long to be on the course. There did not seem to be much on course management so I'm not sure we'll be back during the winter. Additionally, we couldn't hit range balls as they "ran out" because they hadn't picked any up and apparently don't have a caged ball retriever. If you aren't worried about time, it's a fun traditional and forgiving course.
Enjoyable Round
Could not have asked for a better day. The round was a bit chilly to start but warmed up nicely. Overseed came in beautifully and I can’t remember the last time seeing the course in this kind of shape. Greens were fast but were very soft and held really well. My group and I will definitely be back!

Not to many places you can use every club in your bag.
Great for beginner/intermediate players
Very forgiving course, big open fairways to let the driver loose. Really enjoyed this course.

Best shape I’ve ever seen it in!
Played over the weekend. What more could you ask for? Fairways were fantastic. The greens were in pretty good shape, just a little on the slow side. I played this course a bunch 10 years ago and it’s never looked or played this nicely.
4/5 stars because the practice green leave something to be desired. Practice green was very soggy and a lot of it was under repair.
Overall great bang for your buck during winter golf.

Pace was so slow and had to get the carts back by 3:00 because they said the sprinkler systems were timed for that so we only did 16 couldn’t finish. That’s poor management right there.
Toka Sticks Management - Thank you for your comment. The pace issue was due to the "Cart Path Only" restriction still in effect. Also, your rate was a 9 hole rate, becuase we can't guarantee 18 holes at the time you teed off. Thanks for coming out to play at Toka Sticks GC.
Great course
Great course for a great price. Pace was fast. Finished in about 3.5 hours. Only issue was the that all carts had to remain on the cart path for all holes due to overseeding but it's only temporary. Price was very good. Paid 45 bucks which isnt bad for this time of year. Will definitely play there again. Not super challenging but very still very fun to play.
