Cave Creek Golf Course

About
Cave Creek Golf Course is Phoenix's most popular municipal course, seeing about 100,000 rounds yearly. In 1983, Cave Creek began as a landfill reclamation project. It's a sort of pioneer in environmental design, proving similar spots can find environmentally friendly uses. It's open dawn to dusk, year-round.
Eighteen holes of par-72 golf take golfers over 6,732 yards on the Cave Creek Golf Course, kicking off on the par-4 first hole, which measures 363 yards from the blue tees, before things get long on the second hole, which measures 510 yards from the blue tees. That's just one of four long holes, with the sixth hole measuring 532 yards from the blue tees, the 11th coming in at 521 yards from the blue tees, and the sixth having a distance of 518 yards from the blue tees. The round concludes after a suggested playing time of four hours and 10 minutes on the 18th hole, a par 4 that measures 388 yards from the blue tees.
The city of Phoenix has contracted with several hotel chains to offer stay-and-play packages for golfers at the Cave Creek Golf Course and other municipal tracks.

Cave Creek Rocks
Amazing golf course for the money. I WILL play this course again.
Course is in poor condition
Concrete…. Concrete tees, fairways and forget the bunkers..!!!! This place needs water and lots of it.. Skip sane your money..!
Okay course
Greens/fringe are super nice fairways and rough very hard lots of dirty spots other then that good course
Pin Placement is the Key
The course was in pretty good shape and the greens were in good shape except one. This course can play slow depending on the groups in front of you and this day was a little slow.. Enjoyed the round but they need to flatten out some of the greens or stop putting the pins in some of the weird slopped areas that they sometimes use.
Its a fun course fir the money
Its a fun course, second time playing it, its a good golf, goid people.
Greens in great condition
I like the layout. Long & medium par threes. Each hole is different.
Good value
Conditions were nicer than last year. Pace of play decent.Beer 6.50 👎🏻
some areas of fairways were dry
Overall, a good course. The
back 11 holes have a unique character
Great greens - complainers can’t putt…
Some of the previous reviews reference problems that I did not observe during my round. The greens were in excellent shape, if not extra firm and fast. The 18th hole has a front pin placement option that is very tough, so I can see how that could annoy someone who needed a par for their personal best. Like any public course in AZ, there will be bare spots due to the dry conditions. I enjoyed this very much…
Great course for the money
Winter/Spring golf in Phoenix can get pricey! Cave Creek is a great value. Highly recommended. Especially over some of the other "semi-private" or membership based courses in the area.
Unputtable
Actually I was close to quit after the first 9 holes. Fairways were descent but the greens are built for adventure golf. You never get the chance of a good put, no matter where the flag is. The 2nd nine have a nicer layout and are in much better shape, but still putting is no fun. And I'm saying this, after scoring a 74 on my first round there from the back tees. I will definitely not come back.
