About
Cave Creek Golf Course is Phoenix's most popular municipal course, seeing about 100,000 rounds yearly. In 1983, Cave Creek began as a landfill reclamation project. It's a sort of pioneer in environmental design, proving similar spots can find environmentally friendly uses. It's open dawn to dusk, year-round.
Eighteen holes of par-72 golf take golfers over 6,732 yards on the Cave Creek Golf Course, kicking off on the par-4 first hole, which measures 363 yards from the blue tees, before things get long on the second hole, which measures 510 yards from the blue tees. That's just one of four long holes, with the sixth hole measuring 532 yards from the blue tees, the 11th coming in at 521 yards from the blue tees, and the sixth having a distance of 518 yards from the blue tees. The round concludes after a suggested playing time of four hours and 10 minutes on the 18th hole, a par 4 that measures 388 yards from the blue tees.
The city of Phoenix has contracted with several hotel chains to offer stay-and-play packages for golfers at the Cave Creek Golf Course and other municipal tracks.

Management and Keeping of Course: Poor
- Why?
-- My first time out, got range balls... paid for 70 balls, range ball machine gave me about 20.
-- Range in poor shape... hard as concrete. Save your wrists.
*** READ: We were on hole 6 with one full hour before sunset (sun sets at 640 pm, it was 540 pm). We were putting out, and a worker interrupted us to "pull the pins"??? We proceeded the play holes 7, 8, and 9 with no flag pins in the holes. NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE IT. Pure laziness and total lack of regard for paying customers.
- We paid $26 for 9 holes and they practically cut our round short, with an hour of sunset. DONT GOLF HERE!

Not worth the Time
Although there was a starter who kept the groups starting on time, he would have been better served going on the course and making sure players increased pace of play. it tool 5 hours to play. Sometimes four groups on a single hole, especially every par three. Condition was much worse than i remember from previous years. No matter the cost, not worth it.

Nice Course
The greens are challenging, but put true. There is weed growth on almost every green that needs to be addressed. Overall good course with friendly staff.

Tricky greens
Green will make you want to go putt putt course and learn putting all over again. Be aware and warned!

Solid Round
Played here a hundred times, and I'll argue this and GCU are best values in the Valley. Tee Boxes, fairways, and greens are solid. Great layout, not easy, fast and undulating greens. If your looking for good value and a challenge when other places are charging a buck 20, look no further than Cave Creek.

One of the Best city run courses
Fairways are in good shape, greens are very challenging.Love it. Make sure you play ahead of the leagues. It gets slower.
