About
Cave Creek Golf Course is Phoenix's most popular municipal course, seeing about 100,000 rounds yearly. In 1983, Cave Creek began as a landfill reclamation project. It's a sort of pioneer in environmental design, proving similar spots can find environmentally friendly uses. It's open dawn to dusk, year-round.
Eighteen holes of par-72 golf take golfers over 6,732 yards on the Cave Creek Golf Course, kicking off on the par-4 first hole, which measures 363 yards from the blue tees, before things get long on the second hole, which measures 510 yards from the blue tees. That's just one of four long holes, with the sixth hole measuring 532 yards from the blue tees, the 11th coming in at 521 yards from the blue tees, and the sixth having a distance of 518 yards from the blue tees. The round concludes after a suggested playing time of four hours and 10 minutes on the 18th hole, a par 4 that measures 388 yards from the blue tees.
The city of Phoenix has contracted with several hotel chains to offer stay-and-play packages for golfers at the Cave Creek Golf Course and other municipal tracks.

Cart paths are pretty bad, concrete for a short distance then dirt, holes and bumps.
The Tee boxes and fairways were in good condition. The Cart paths are very bad, they should be concrete or paved ALL the way not just a little for each hole.
The greens were challenging and cut very close so they were very fast.
The greens were not in great condition with bare spots and some weeds.
Overall the course is too expensive for what you get and we will not be returning again.

Could be good...
Tees and greens nice but tough to find a decent lie in fairways or rough. Five hour round and no ranger pushing groups in front of us. Gal shut down the snack bar an hour and a half early so no ice cold beer after our round. Could be enjoyable if more investment made in the course. Wouldn't take much!

A great course
Front is challenging, but the back was easier. The course is in good shape and green, but the cart paths need work

Rough Rough
As long as you stay on the partially green fairway you will be ok. The course is in very rough shape.

Interesting layout
The rough is rough. Hitting lff bare ground is tricky for me, but the fairways and areas around the hreens were nice. Greens are very fast but true. Most traps don't come into play. I played it 3 timez in the ladt month because is pretty and a good challenge

Golf n work
Course is very forgiving on most all shots. Fairways run next to each other. Greens and fairways are in great shape. Pace of play a little slow But no to bad for a Sunday. 4.5 hours.

Course: In decent shape
Management and Keeping of Course: Poor
- Why?
-- My first time out, got range balls... paid for 70 balls, range ball machine gave me about 20.
-- Range in poor shape... hard as concrete. Save your wrists.
*** READ: We were on hole 6 with one full hour before sunset (sun sets at 640 pm, it was 540 pm). We were putting out, and a worker interrupted us to "pull the pins"??? We proceeded the play holes 7, 8, and 9 with no flag pins in the holes. NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE IT. Pure laziness and total lack of regard for paying customers.
- We paid $26 for 9 holes and they practically cut our round short, with an hour of sunset. DONT GOLF HERE!

Not worth the Time
Although there was a starter who kept the groups starting on time, he would have been better served going on the course and making sure players increased pace of play. it tool 5 hours to play. Sometimes four groups on a single hole, especially every par three. Condition was much worse than i remember from previous years. No matter the cost, not worth it.
