Cave Creek Golf Course is Phoenix's most popular municipal course, seeing about 100,000 rounds yearly. In 1983, Cave Creek began as a landfill reclamation project. It's a sort of pioneer in environmental design, proving similar spots can find environmentally friendly uses. It's open dawn to dusk, year-round.
Eighteen holes of par-72 golf take golfers over 6,732 yards on the Cave Creek Golf Course, kicking off on the par-4 first hole, which measures 363 yards from the blue tees, before things get long on the second hole, which measures 510 yards from the blue tees. That's just one of four long holes, with the sixth hole measuring 532 yards from the blue tees, the 11th coming in at 521 yards from the blue tees, and the sixth having a distance of 518 yards from the blue tees. The round concludes after a suggested playing time of four hours and 10 minutes on the 18th hole, a par 4 that measures 388 yards from the blue tees.
The city of Phoenix has contracted with several hotel chains to offer stay-and-play packages for golfers at the Cave Creek Golf Course and other municipal tracks.

Course in decent shape
Needs Marshall to watch people hitting balls on top of you.
People driving carts looking for their ball in the wrong fairway driving towards you waiting to hit

Too much trash
The trash that is left by the transients is unbelievable. The course is nice but needs cleaned BAD.

Great greens
Solid course. The greens here are always fast and true to the eye.
Tee boxes and fairways were great today too. Holes 8 & 9 need your full attention on the front.
11,12,14,16,17 and 18 all have teeth if you get too greedy off the tee you’ll get bit.
Don’t get me wrong if your steady off the tee it’s very playable and forgiving on slightly off drives.

Landfill?!?!?!?!
My first time playing this course and it was a lot of fun!! I was told that this was an old landfill back in the day so the greens moved... hahaha! what a nice easy challenge, and i scored my first birdie from 200 yards away!!

Never play again
The staff was unfriendly, the bathrooms and the pro shop were filthy, the carts were not sterile, and the pace of play was terrible, too backed up. It was not worth the $100. I paid to play this course. Ill never play it again.
