About
The Encanto Golf Course is an 18-hole golf course designed by William P. Bell and built in 1936. It offers 6,404 yards of par-70 golf from the championship tees.
Reservations are required on the Encanto Golf Course, which is open year-round, and features all of the amenities, such as rental carts and clubs, an in-house professional and a driving range. Metal spikes are allowed.

Disappointing back 9
the course was ok but the back 9 was out of control at times with students Jumping Tees and basically playing where ever they wanted to. One foursome and a pair of golfers were doing this not only upsetting us but a single that joined us and a foursome two holes ahead of us that got jumped; the pair jumped from 14th hole to the 17th hole. It was out of control . I have never seen a course taken over like that. 7 upset golfers (that I know of). my wife and I didn't notice anyone in front or behind us from the first 9holes we did.. I imagine a least a few people left without doing the back 9 because the 2- groups (foursome and twosome) were playing where they wanted to. No respect for other players The foursome that were going up to 17 did yell at the twosome that jumped in front of them from the 14th tee. it ruined our afternoon and our carts battery died on the 15th hole and they did send out another one. Bad experience.

Good course
Love playing Encanto. The history and adjacent houses are the bomb. Good fairway rolls, greens were a little sandy still, but they rolled well.

Hope they get the greens back
I always feel pretty happy with how the City of Phoenix maintains this Muni. The fairways were in good shape, but many of the greens have been totally lost. There is not really a good way to get your shot or putt to stop, and their is no ability to read them because they are punched mud.

Become of Covid there are still no rakes in the bunkers no ball washers. Mayior Kate needs to get over it and stop being so over Bering. Golf courses in Scottsdale are all ready back to pre Covid. The only thing that encanto forces you to do is share a cart if the course is crowded witch it never is expect on the weekends.

What happened to encanto I've been playing there for 25 years
I've been planning piano since the early 80s I have never in my life seen it in such a terrible condition the greens look like asphalt it was dirt packed no grass I can see it been verified but it was just terrible I love encano don't get me wrong what happened

Old track revisited
Old familiar course from my days in High School. Unfortunately I remember the greens being better. The greens were scalped and barely any grass. I hope it is only because they are in transition from winter to summer.

"Punchy " Greens
The greens at Encanto are usually great. However, the greens were punched and sanded 2 days ago. I realize this is a necessity but it would have been nice to know beforehand. A couple of holes had really sandy greens that affected the roll of the ball. I know the course will benefit in the future but it made today a bit annoying.

Not in good shape.....
Greens awful, dry fairways with limited grass. Sorry. I won’t be back.

Front 9 were in horrific shspe. Back 9 was better but still very poor.

Very historic course
One of the oldest courses in Phoenix. It was enjoyable to play. Easy to walk. The greens were very very fast.

Greens need some TLC...
Overall course was in decent shape, however the greens definitely need some TLC with bare areas showing on most of them...

Solid easy course
The course is in pretty good condition right now, including the bunkers. It’s a pretty straight forward course without a ton of crazy obstacles and at 6400 yds from the blue tees it’s not tremendously long. I played on a Monday so it wasn’t too busy as well. I usually score well here for these reasons, so it’s an enjoyable round!

Been a long time
Been nearly 30 years. Course is the same but the hood is better than ever. Love the homes and everything around this part of phoenix. I’ve lived here a long time and it’s better than ever.
The course is rough. GCU, Papago and Aquila have done far better as munis. The Uni money has been big for two but Aguila is far better too. Spotty grass in fairway and not much on green. Didn’t help the bachelor party in front of us on a Thursday afternoon

Challenging long course
Long course not for the beginner. Lots of bunkers, a little water, laid out beautifully. The greens were tricky, pretty dry, otherwise I would rated a five-star.
