Encanto Golf Course

The course is an essay to walk course in good shape with beautiful greens that are very quick.

Course is in good shape. Fast greens. Only complaint is no visible yardage markers. Pace of play was 4 hours was very good even with 4walkers in the group ahead of us.

The greens and fairways are in great shape, a little slow play . The t boxes for forward tees are very long would be nice if they could shorten them a little. Will play again.

Wide open course greens were in great shape very fast staff was great well priced would definitely golf there again

I have to put a plug in for this golf course, there have been major positive changes. This is a traditional old school layout, another Billy Bell design (he of Papago, Torrey Pines, etc.) dating from 1936. It is a unique setting in the center of Phoenix and historical neighborhoods. Beautiful historic homes and downtown high rises are some of the views from the course.

It is a great course to walk and very playable. The greens are the defense here, if you get out of position it's pretty much a 3-putt waiting to happen. The course is in the best condition I have seen it in 20+ years. And they are finally in the process of refurbishing the bunkers, the new ones are great, better than many of the upscale resort courses.

They have completely remodeled the restaurant and bathrooms and they are both first rate. The value is exceptional for the current product, go have a throwback day!

I have been playing in kanto for at least 18 years now, I have never seen the course in better condition overall. T boxes fairways greens bunkers freshly redone staff friendly restaurant is somewhere I would go to eat even if I was not playing golf that day. For the money you cannot beat this 18 holes, wide open, pretty flat, greens perfect, good golf course for any level of golfer.

I just hope the city of Phoenix doesn't mask this one up and sell it off like they did pap ago and maryvale. That would be a sad day for Phoenix golfers.

Just what I expected from previous play. It is a good value for winter play in Phoenix.

I played this course once before a few years ago and I didn't think the conditions were good, so I was surprised at the conditions today. The greens were true, fairways all green, and overall surprisingly nice condition for the middle of Phoenix. The carts were in nice shape, but many people were walking. I would definitely bring my push cart and walk next time. The course is basically flat and if you stray off the fairways, you're almost never in trouble, but there are some well placed bunkers to help raise the difficulty, but with a slope rating of 113 or so, don't expect a big challenge. Enjoyable course and I'll be back (if it were a little closer, I would be a regular). Most of the bunkers had nice sand and by the look of the sand in the parking lot, looks like they all will by next weekend.

This round was after a Pelting(!) by a monsoon all the day B4, They clean it up well there. So Terry was quite Neighborly in handling the times as We ran tardy that day, THANKS. Encanto is quite popular here inthe "C0P(Center0fPhoenix)" for a pleasant parkland golf experience & 4good reason. Mature and Undulating greens are an outstanding defense for a simple layout. Always Fun, now a big THANKS to Leon out front as another asset for wanting 2play this course, Will B back 4Sure -B Well.

The course is in great shape. Fairways, tee boxes and greens (as always) are really nice. There is even some rough out there. Rates are still pretty low (got a Hot Deal) and they have not started to over seed yet. We teed off at 9:30 and played our round in just over 3 hours. It's still Encanto but there might not be a better time to play this course in midtown Phoenix.

Good municipal course to get started in golf. Big fairways inspire confidence. The bunkers are a joke. More like giant pot holes with hard dirt. It looked like the were attempting to improve the bunkers. We’ll see about that in a month or two.

The course is very flat and the greens are all elevated it seemed. The greens were in decent shape.

Will play again, and bring my kids.

Ideal late summer course conditions. The heat keeps the masses away at this time of year so a 3 hour round is doable especially with a cart.

Greens were rolling nicely and evenly throughout my round especially on #18 where I carded an unexpected Eagle ! Fairways were recently mowed so most approach shots were usually solid. The newly re-opened Grill is a major plus especially on a hot day.

Course staff were friendly, personable and focused.

Definitely a course that will appeal to all levels of golfers.

Played Encqanto today at 6 am with the fellas today. The course was in pretty good condition. The greens were rolling true but not too fast. Overall the round was enjoyable and the staff was nice. The newly remodeled 19th hole was really nice. Good to see the City of Phoenix starting to take pride in their properties. Definitely recommend playing soon.
