Glen Dornoch Waterway Golf Links
About
This beautiful facility is located on 270 pristine acres at the North end of the Grand Strand. Blessed with a unique topography and large mature trees, the course meanders down to the inter-coastal waterway with scenic vistas to distract you at every turn.
This 6900 yard Clyde Johnston design is owned and managed by the same group that developed the fabled Heather Glen links and the service you have grown to expect from this organization is evident the moment you drive up to the clubhouse. Give this course a try the next time you vist the Myrtle Beach area. You won't be disappointed!

Hole 9 Photo submitted by pwa93 on 04/26/2015
Unfortunately it was a stormy day. We got drenched on the 3rd hole, fairways turned to rivers. Then cart path only which was expected. Made the turn then horn sounded for lighting in the area so we left. Looked like a fun course. Greens had been punched a couple weeks before but rolled ok. Maybe play again sometime but wished we got a 9 hole refund!
Slow play
They let too many golfers out and no ranger to keep the pace of play.
Extremely slow
Consider taking out a few teetimes to get less players out there on the course at the same time. Once you start grinding at each and every shop because you’re waiting 15 minutes to take a shot, it becomes more aggravating.
Ranger Rick
Played on a day when it rained unfortunately but after the rain the ranger was as rude as he could have been. Even with rain delay we played right at 4 and 1/2 hours and got followed almost the whole back 9. Kinda ruined the nice course for us!!
Slow Slow Slow
Great coarse even with the greens healing from being airefied but 6 hours to play a round of golf is ridiculous.
Death March
I played this course every time I’m in town. I understand aeration is a necessary evil so we can all enjoy beautiful greens most of the year. This is the worst pace of play I have experienced since I’ve been here. We were near 5 1/2 hours, and grinding in the heat
Greens are bermuda grass, and had been recently aerofied, so were quite bumpy and fairly slow. Will be better in a couple of weeks. Fairways somewhat spotty, but typical of beach courses where money is in short supply. But paid so little to play you had to overlook its conditioning shortcomings.
Not sure if a great view for 4 holes is worth 5 1/2 hr round
Teed off half hr late because no carts. Starter was very friendly though. Greens were almost unputtable. Our cart kept dying on us. 5.5 hr round. A high noon was $8.50! Plus tip. The finishing holes do have a great view
Course maintenance budget should allow for more weed management. Greens were covered in goosegrass or crow's foot weed. Simple herbicide application is sustainable and would make the greens more pleasant to play. Rest of the course wasn't bad and the entire staff from the pro shop to the starters and snack bar girl were extremely personable.
Glen D june 30
Aeration, but greens were still decent. Pace was good, friendly staff great layout.
Course with potential!
The course has a great layout. I played for a bargain because I booked through GolfNow. Based upon a 4 hr round of golf, the pace of play was slow. We played the front 9 in about 2.5 hrs. A thunderstorm cut our round short after 12 holes. Others in the group were given a raincheck for 9 holes but I declined it. The golf course tees, fairways and rough were not bad shape. The greens had goosegrass(weed) everywhere on them. I know Turfgrass and was perfectly aware that no herbicides have been applied to prevent or treat those greens. Also, very bumpy from a combination of sparse Bermuda, aerification, and the unwanted grasses. The -1 I was after 12 could have easily been -6 on smoother greens but nevertheless I enjoyed the round because of our group and the great course staff..
