other than the challenging greens the course has really no challenges, so much so that I can loose focus and interest in playing, one thing most or a lot of the area surrounding the greens 10 to 15 yards out, the grass is so short and thin, you are playing off dirt
Greens were a challenge, lots of double breakes
I will play here again
Great course, great condition
This is a hidden gem in Sun City and would play here every chance I got. My one found fault would be making the turn. They started us on hole 10 and when we made the turn we were backed up by new tee times on hole one. Oh, the egg salad sandwich is the BOMB!
Great Sunday on the Course
Staff is great. Putting and driving range were in good shape. The course from start to finish was in great shape. And for a Sunday afternoon, still finished in four hours. A great day!!!
Great course for the money
I loved the care taken for this course. The greens were fast but still fair and held a good putt. The fairways although mostly flat had bunkers placements that challenged any player. My wife hits from red tees and me from whites and the difference in placements was fair and consistent for every hole. The sand bunkers were consistent with plenty of sof sand and the day we played took 4:15 hrs. To play.
Worth the Time
I played Thanking Day . The price was GR8. The staff was very friendly and course was in very good condition. Someone forgot to turn the wind switch to off but that just makes you focus more...
Much improved
Played two times earlier this year and greens were horrible. They have really been fixed now, we even had to repair numerous ball marks, Greens were lush and a bit slow but very, very good. Fairways were wet from rain from previous night, but there was plenty of good grass every where. For those of you who had a bad experience in the past, I say let it go. i thought course was fantastic and greens are better than I ever remember. Can't wait to go back as I love the layout.
Challenging
Enjoyed the course.Nice traps, greens are improving.z Unfortunately they alow 5 somes, which really heldon't us up,otherwise we had a good timt.
Enjoyed my round
Even though over seeding not complete, had a great time. Great practice greens and driving range. I am going to play here again
My favorite Sun City course
Typical Sun City layout, clockwise racetrack hole progression, with canal and water hazards down middle (mostly on back nine), and housing on the outside. Tee and green layout better than other Sun City courses (IMO), better visually and more fun to play. Plenty of elevation changes that seem natural, not just added lumps off the fairway.
Best Sun City Course
Over the past few years I have played several Sun City courses. The North and the South courses and Union Hills plus Sun City Country Club. All of those facilities had "attitude" toward the golfer. This one is the friendliest one. The Pro Shop and restaurant were very nice. Please and thank you's abound. So, when I can (after overseeding) I will play here again. The course itself is typical Sun City layout flat and less than picturesque, but very playable and if need be, fast. My twosome finished in less than 4 hours and were playing slowly. My partner complained about the greens being too fast and not holding, but I didn't have that problem. Nice selection of teeboxes to fit anyone's game and the carts were well charged up and fast. Good Place, Good times. You should try it.
Let it fly
Good course to get your swing on! You really can"t lose a ball unless you hit the ball in the water, so crank it up and see how far you can hit it! Sand Traps are soft and deep and plentiful. Great Staff!
Another Good Day on the Golf Course
The course is well maintained and the greens are still running fast from the redo earlier in the year.
Greens need water
Fairways were nice, greens and around the greens were like hitting on the cart paths.
Greens are tough
The course was redone last year, re-opened in Q4 2015 so the greens are hard and fast. They will keep getting better. Course was in good shape, has been every time I play it.
The greens could use a little grass and care.
The course was a fun wide open layout. Fairways were in fair to good shape. Greens could not hold a ball no matter how I tossed one in. I'm a 10 handicap and I can generally spin the ball enough to hold a green. Not on this course. If you throw a ball onto the green from ANY distance it will roll through/off. There was effectively no discernible grass anywhere on the greens.
We could not figure out where the course name came from until the back 9. We actually found it amusing to see the concrete / man made river ( which might be 6 inches deep) flowing through most of the holes on the back.
Riverview
Course was in great shape, new greens are in very nice shape and pace of play was good.
Great sandtraps
Don't let the sour grapes of prior golfers sway you from playing this course. It's true the greens are very hard so you have to change your strategy to running your ball up to the green. Sandtraps are the best I've ever played in the west valley. Very soft and "puffy" which can afford you an accurate shot. Larry in the clubhouse genuinely friendly and accommodating. This course is a great little diamond in the rough (no pun intended).
Greens are in horrible shape
Worst greens I have ever played on. Course layout is decent but the whole course is rock hard right now especially the greens. Can't hit a ball that will stay on them. I wouldn't play this course until they fix them somehow at any price.

Thank you very much for coming out to play! We've worked hard getting the course and greens back in good shape, and they will only continue to keep improving with the efforts our maintenance team puts forth each day.
