About
Located in the metropolitan Phoenix area, the affordably priced Ken McDonald Golf Course is a championship-length course that is suitable for any level of golfer. The flat terrain of the course makes for an enjoyable stroll, while the water hazards that come into play on eight holes provide plenty of challenge. The water hazards are provided by the Western Canal, which flows directly through the golf course. The par-5 11th hole is the longest on the course at 570 yards; it is very difficult to reach in two shots. In addition to the course, Ken McDonald Golf Course offers several other amenities including a restaurant, club fitting and repairs, and professional golf instruction.

Solid municipal course. Good value and nothing fancy. Pretty decent range and practice area. Flat open course so lots of people walking with push carts. Will be back for sure.
Course did not handle slow play
After 4 holes the foursome ahead were 2 holes behind .
The foursome was drinking heavily .
The Marshall talked to them but he warned them and after more holes of delay he did nothing .
The Marshall moved the group behind us up a hole in front of problem group .
First time at Ken MacDonald and would not return .
Great value and fun
Played many times over the years. Always a very consistent and pleasant experience. The perfect municipal course. First class practice facilities.
Great value and great conditions
Let’s be honest, Arizona golf prices have increased quite a bit since covid. This is a staple city-owned course that is a great value. Green were fast, true, and had some great approach shot holds. I started at 6:15am and was able to get a foursome round in under 4 hours and shot a 73 with 4 birdies. Would love to see the driving range improved a bit, but the greens and chipping area are great for fine tuning your skills.
Definitely love playing here and I will be back!
Good Conditions
Course in good shape, play can be a little slow. Probably didn't help I was put with a group that was two groups deep and weren't very good players. They all used rental clubs bought a dozen balls each and started running out on 16th hole
Decent Muni Course
Overall this is a decent municipal golf course and is a good value especially when compared to the great many overpriced golf courses in the greater Phoenix and Scottsdale areas.
Excellent staff and condition of course
Between to the very friendly and helpful staff, especially Mike in the clubhouse, and the condition of the course being in great shape most of the year, I have a great experience when playing the course every week.

Definitely a steal at the current price for how good conditions are currently. No complaints and have played it 4-5 times in the last two weeks. +6 handi
Beautiful course, day, and playing partners from Ireland
Perfect weather, good playing partners from Ireland, great layout, and consistent greens.
The foursome ahead of my foursome took 2 hours to complete 7 holes, but 2 of them quit after 9 holes and pace picked up.
Tempe Golf
It is a decent course for the money. It is not a Scottsdale course but it is 1/3 the cost. Convenient if you live in Tempe, Chandler or South Scottsdale.

Haven’t played Kenny Mac in about 7 years. I was pleasantly surprised how good the course conditions were. The restaurant was great. Good food. Good prices. Good service. I highly recommend!
