Kokopelli Golf Course

About
Located a short distance from Sky Harbor Airport in Phoenix and Arizona State University, Kokopelli Golf Course is a championship length course that offers many interesting challenges. The rolling terrain creates sloping greens and undulating fairways. A majority of the teeboxes and greens are elevated as well. The course also has large multiple island tees and water hazards in the form of meandering lakes that come into play on several holes. The signature hole of Kokopelli Golf Course is the par-5 18th hole. The dramatic finishing hole calls for a shot off an elevated too followed by an approach shot past water to an elevated green.

Excellent!
We really enjoyed playing this course! Challenging layout and excellent greens. The beer cart gal was around on a continual basis which was a nice treat....not all courses do that! Great day - can't wait to get back!
Greens pretty slow
Course is in good shape overall. Greens are slow though, need to be cut down a bit.
Overpriced and too penal
This course is alright. I get the vibe that they think they’re a better course than they are. The staff is fine. The green fees are overpriced. The range sucks. The course itself is alright but very punishing if you miss fairways or greens. It’s a good option when it’s cheap in the summer, but I paid $84 in the spring and thought that was way overpriced given the course conditions, pace of play and general course design quality. I shouldn’t be seeing brown grass, muddy bunkers and waiting 10 minutes on every tee box if you want me to pay $84 to play and charge a rider fee for my fiancée even though I’m just playing as a single and need 1 cart no matter what.
Not for adults
Very poorly maintained course with the exception a few hole.
Greens were reasonable maintained. But fairways are terrible. Overall course maintain is extremely poor.
Will never play again. For $20 more you can play a Troon course.
Good day at Kokopelli!
Challenging bunkers and undulating fairways and greens.
Course has very interesting layout.
Overall the course was well manicured and maintained. Several areas could use additional seeding and watering. Most fairways are undulating hills and require good ball placement. Definitely a challenge but also enjoyable. Look forward to playing the course again.
Atrocious
More dirt than grass, greens were in good shape, 5 hour round, tbh, wouldn’t play again for free. Bartender was great though!
Nice course.
Good course, no flat greens. a little narrow, and no sand in hazards. Would play again.
Maintenance Needed
The course layout is good. Bag boy greeting people was very nice. Cart boy at the end of round was a little rude. Most of the carts had ripped seats. The greens were very nice and the fairways had many areas of dead grass. Maybe a great summer course when rates are much lower.
Poor sand traps slow greens
Hard sand if there was sand mostly dirt. Sparse over seeding. Rough areas mostly dirt.
Stay in the fairway
The web-site markets the course at a level far exceeding reality. The fairways are narrow, the numerous bunkers have no sand and are rock hard and the rough is dirt. There was a lot of standing water on the course notably where the irrigation system wouldn't normally seem to be in place. The greens were probably the best part of the course as they were in great shape. Overall the course is extremely challenging but not in a fun way. The range balls scattered across the number one and 18 fairways were very distracting so don't play with yellow balls! I typically gauge a course by how I am treated in the the pro shop and the unremarkable staffing pretty much summed up the experience on the course.
Computer glitch???????
I booked online and was content with the tee time and price. Tee time was 3:13 so having not played in a while we got to the course 1 1/2 hours early to warm up practice. When I went to check in they couldn’t find our name, informing us that the earliest they could get us out would be 4:20 . We went to the dining area to figure out our plans thinking we might have wasted several hours preparing for a long awaited outing. Maybe 15 minutes passed and the starter approached us and said I’ll fit you guys in.( He had been talking w/ the front desk about the situation). After paying another $20.00 we were put on. We have played this course many times and have always had good relations with everyone there, I have used Golf Now many times with no problems, but this time was atrocious!!! We paid the higher price on another card so the original charge is on my card ??????????
Sand traps
The sand traps were really bad. They were like hitting off of hard pan. I know there is a pandemic but can't the ground crew rake the traps at least once a week?
Great weather, course is in pretty good shape
Don't miss the fairway! It's tight and if you miss it, there is no such thing as rough, just dirt. Pretty unforgiving, could use a little more grass on a lot of fairways. A lot of grass around the greens is pretty short, hard to use your wedges, but have to say, a lot of courses are going this way.
