Kokopelli Golf Course

About
Located a short distance from Sky Harbor Airport in Phoenix and Arizona State University, Kokopelli Golf Course is a championship length course that offers many interesting challenges. The rolling terrain creates sloping greens and undulating fairways. A majority of the teeboxes and greens are elevated as well. The course also has large multiple island tees and water hazards in the form of meandering lakes that come into play on several holes. The signature hole of Kokopelli Golf Course is the par-5 18th hole. The dramatic finishing hole calls for a shot off an elevated too followed by an approach shot past water to an elevated green.

Is this round over yet?! Photo submitted by u000001335906 on 01/03/2015
Nice course
Had a good time. Some holes are very tricky with mounds in the fairways that cause good/bad/ terrible bounces. Also there are a couple of water hazards that are complete surprises. Example 9th hole right of green. there should be a course map on the card. No one likes to hit a good shot and find out that it is in the water
Great track in the heart of Mesa
Course was in the best condition I have experienced. Greens were smooth and quick. Joined 2 other golfers and had a really nice round. Now...here are a few negatives: 1) golf carts are atrocious...seats torn, floor mats dirty...and generally aweful: 2) staff showed NO interest in welcoming you, starter was clues, and bathrooms needed attention.
Golf date
Course was great. The only thing was trying to find the second hole. Score cards don't show how the course is layed out so had a hard time finding #2 tee box. Had to ask other golfers.
Good winter rate
The greens were slow and inconsistent. Much of the rough was just dirt. Fairways were below average for this time of year.
Narrow but very nice
The course is in excellent shape. The course is narrow. If I could suggest the greens keeper let the rough along the water grow to slow balls from rolling in. The topography and short grass along on the water pulls balls in. Frustrating
Muddy, Wet and difficult
At first appearance we were excited to see the course, because we had seen the reviews about dirt fairways and mud. We didn't see any of that. At first. Very hilly and tricky greens, lots of water, in lakes and on the fairways. Not sure if they overwater or what, but the mud and wet soggy areas are not in just a few areas. Many folks drive their carts through the wet area and tear things up even more. This course has grass only on the fairways, everything else is dirt or mud. The greens need work, but were ok. Speed was mid range. Pace of play was ok, but the value isn't there. Be sure to take a lot of balls....and by the way, we are pretty good golfers. Played it once, won't play again unless they figure out the issues with water and the fairways. Just too many issues to enjoy the round. Plus, I have to sterilize all my golf balls because the course is covered in goose poop! If you play....its on you.
Looooooong round
We only played 9 instead of the 18 we paid for! pushed over 3 hrs for the front nine and we took our time at the turn getting food and drinks go out to 10 and there is still 2 groups on the tee box! We said f this and took off
Kokopelli No bueno
Course was overwatered and under maintained.
Carts were filthy. Greens were in decent shape.
Kinda disappointed.
Lots of elevation change
I’m a beginner golfer and thought this course was quite the challenge! A lot of elevation changes throughout, and like any course, if you can play from the fairway you’ll be better off. I used almost every club in my bag, which was awesome! Plenty of driver and long iron opportunities!
I’ll definitely play here again!
Don't play here
More bare ground than grass. Traps have black water and zero sand. Golfers while in waiting for hole to clear hitting into truck lot on back nine.
Clearly this coarse should be sold to walmart or similar refuse staging area.
