Kokopelli Golf Course
About
Located a short distance from Sky Harbor Airport in Phoenix and Arizona State University, Kokopelli Golf Course is a championship length course that offers many interesting challenges. The rolling terrain creates sloping greens and undulating fairways. A majority of the teeboxes and greens are elevated as well. The course also has large multiple island tees and water hazards in the form of meandering lakes that come into play on several holes. The signature hole of Kokopelli Golf Course is the par-5 18th hole. The dramatic finishing hole calls for a shot off an elevated too followed by an approach shot past water to an elevated green.

Play the course you'll love it
I am a golf professional, played and been a member of the finest courses throughout the country. Very familiar with the local market. Prior member of Arizona country club and Desert Mountain Club. Traveling through the area I stumbled across this course. At first I was ready to blow it off due to the condition of the range. Range mats and golf balls are worn out, however practice areas for chipping, bunker and putting are in good shape. Entered the clubhouse, old and could use a facelift, but warm and friendly like a small town favorite hangout♥️ a rare charm missing these days The pro-shop is well stocked. Due to the friendly environment and good vibes from employees I hit the course. Playing from the tips, I was completely blindsided by the quality and design of the course., In short it was awesome. Challenging to play and in excellent condition. Only a couple of greens scarred with ball marks from the amount of play they get but rolled out nice. I would have given the course five stars, however, bathroom facilities were below average, golf carts were in proper working order but cosmetically worn, and driving range in need of new target pins, mats and balls. I'm sure that the staff is on top of it and in the future this will become a true five star facility. In conclusion I'd rather play this great course with a low pressure and friendly environment lacking perfect amenities, then a great course with state-of-the-art facilities where you sense a commercialized environment. I rarely write reviews but for some reason this place hit me in the spot where it deserves some praise. If you're looking for a good time and a challenge to your game, play this course. I have to get a dig in for Srixon golf products. Srixon irons are amazing. If you want to increase distance with accuracy, experience the forgiveness of a top quality product. Go hit them at your local retailer. Most exciting is Srixon introduced new drivers that rival all drivers for distance, forgiveness and control. The new z-star balls give results you'd expect from a tour quality product, and Cleveland wedges are simply the best.
Morning 9
Fun, public course. Greens exceeded expectations given the price. Waste areas leave a bit to be desired. Good greens make everything better and these are certainly enjoyable. Really nice vibe here and a quality logo to top it off.
Nice day for golf
Pace of play was very slow, but the weather was perfect.
Nice laid back course
Nice course overall. Unfortunately it seems to be under repair and most of the holes were roped off and off limits to carts. Otherwise the layout is nice and the staff were amazing.
Not great value for the price
The fairways were in good shape but the majority of the rough on the course was either dead grass or dirt. The greens were in decent shape. Traveling from out of town and wish I would have spent a bit more money to play at a nicer course.
Cheap
Cheaper course. Priced right. Our 4 man team was very rushed by the cart person even though we were held up by the team in front of us. I feel they book the tee times too close together. Another minute or two between times would have been good. Our team was called out to start more than 10 minutes than scheduled. We were rushed but yet had to consistently wait.
Ok but slow play.
Good value for the time of year. I was Ok with the course conditions as the greens and fairways were fair. Exception was hallmarks not being fixed on greens. More than just the occasional one. Not the courses fault but they could do a better job with emphasis. Teed off at 9:47 on a Saturday and experienced a 5 plus hour round. Waiting.every.hole. Gets old. Otherwise good layout, staff was great and decent practice facilities. I would go back but maybe on the weekday when the slow players are at work.
Bring a beach towel
The staff was amazing, the course lay out is fun but it’s so much bare land. Fairways are in great shape and green are acceptable but if you don’t hit the fairway it’s all open dirt. I don’t mean desert style golf but just bare dirt everywhere.
Kokopell
Course was very wet and muddy due to rain the night before. But mud has been there because of too many bare areas with no grass. The greens had way too many divots and it appears they don’t spend too much time on them.
Good shape
I give it 8 out of 10 in good condition no complaints.
All around it looks pretty decent still muddy in some areas. Greens were in good shape but nobody was replacing or fixing any of their dims pretty banged up for how much it gets paid. A little bit cheaper would be more worthwhile.
Too many rope off holes
Too many roped off holes fairways were wide and in good shape because you couldn’t drive on them
