Boulder City Municipal Golf Course

Grreat course for the beginner to intermediate golfer.

Course was in great condition. They we’re redoing one tee box so we had to tee off of the fairway. Other than that no complaints. All other tee boxes were in great shape. Fairways and rough were all well maintained. Greens played true. Each hole felt unique. Just an overall great course for the price.

We bought two Tee times because there was 6 of us playing. They had us for 10:07 and 10:15. The starter took us the Hole 1 and said have fun. Before we were even done teeing off, a group parked right behind us. We’re on the green now of the first hole and that group behind us Tees off, even tho we had two tee times.

Pace of play was fine even with those guys not respecting our two tee time play. We weren’t holding anyone back. Half way through the 6th hole, the starter drove into the fairway, and started yelling at us if we were his sons and forgot to do their chores. He started using profanity and telling us we can’t play 6 on a hole. To quote him ,”we can do 5, but not 6”. Which makes zero sense because if you do 5, you have a 3rd cart with an empty seat.

We questioned him on two things.

1. Are we slowing down the pace of play?

He replied with “you know better than to play 6 a hole.”

2. Why did you start us at the first hole, knowing we have two tee times, then proceed to let a group start right behind us?

He could never answer us. Just cursing and acting like we’re children. He got out of his cart and approached one of our players as if he was going to do something. So we all laughed at his old pathetic self and kept playing. We split up into two groups of 3, but pace of play slowed down tremendously, and the group behind us said to play 6 because it’s faster.

Contacted the Pro- Shop asking for a Marshall to come to the course and regulate the pace of play. Was told “ the pace of play was just fine” and even questioned me about my tee time. No one ever showed up on the course to rectify the situation. Course in poor condition. Greens were in poor condition. Will not be back there.

My buddies and I like to play BCMG a few times a year thanks to its layout and usually well-maintained fairways and greens and the fact that we typically end our day with a great meal at one of our favorite BBQ joints in BC. This day was a hot one despite an early tee time and we were disappointed that there was no beverage cart on the course. This is further disappointing since you’re not allowed to bring your own cooler (standard practice) but their carts are not equipped with an ice chest to stock up on water/drinks prior to or mid-round - I believe you can rent an ice chest which seems ridiculous given that the area has temperatures of 90-110 degrees 7 or more months out of the year! The cart barn is well-staffed (maybe over-staffed) with some of the friendliest staff at any southern Nevada course. Perhaps they should consider less staff in the cart barn and put out a beverage cart (at least on busy weekends)!

Course was in very good shape. Often gets crowded and a 5 hour round is typical. All in all a very good experience. Staff very friendly.

Don’t tell anyone about this jewel of a golf course. This is a hidden gem!!!
