Boulder Creek Golf Club - Desert Hawk/Eldorado Valley
About
There are 27 holes of championship golf at Boulder Creek Golf Club. The holes are divided into three nines that are played in different 18-hole combinations. The Desert Hawk/Eldorado Valley golf course combines the longest and shortest nines. The Desert Hawk nine offers plenty of room with generous greens and wide fairways. Though Eldorado Valley is the shortest, but you would never be able to tell. The nine rewards long drives and there are unobstructed shots from the lush fairways. Water hazards come into play, mostly on the front nine, while the back nine's challenges come from the deep, natural sand bunkers that are strategically positioned along the greens. Throughout the course, golfers will enjoy a scenic and diverse landscape that shifts from desert to verdant meadows accented with colorful wildflowers.

Gem of a course near Las Vegas
Solid fairways were a pleasure to hit from. Greens well maintained and a good putt rolled true. Pro Shop and Starter were naturally welcoming.
Engaging Desert Golf Without the Gimmicks
Two well-designed, intriguing, and unique nines of golf combine to form a course without one overwhelming water hazard, without faux dunes running along fairways, and without any full-blown target holes. Instead, Boulder Creek offers broad appeal across handicaps, with wide, almost Golden Age–style fairways and large greens that are only moderately sloped. Although some greens resist run-on approaches, and cavernous bunkers frequently guard both fairways and putting surfaces, the general feel is open, not punitive.
Is the course hard? Sheer length always matters, and this runs 7,524 from the blacks, with the third longest (!) set of tees playing from 6.553. Still, the real test lies in more familiar elements, especially those applied carefully: elevated and contoured greens; frequent, deep greenside bunkers; fairways that move laterally as they rise and fall. And two-putting some of these oversized greens is no cinch. An almost complete absence of shouldering mounds around fairways means that your errant drives lack a forgiving shield from the surrounding desert or waste areas.
Tale of Two Nines: Coyote Run Compared to Eldorado Valley
Coyote Run proved the more compelling nine, distinguished by a stronger strategic emphasis and a bolder design. Diagonal arroyos cross fairways to create genuine risk-reward decisions, while frequent—but not suffocating—bunkering sharpens tee shots. Long waste areas loom on several holes, and I found myself hitting away from them with a fade or draw back to the fairway. The split fairways add polish, with the ninth hole delivering a textbook rendition: the narrow, hazardous left route trades danger for distance while the wider right side demands a longer approach.
Eldorado Valley offers a gentler rhythm. Several fairways meander; others are straightforward doglegs. About half the holes use fairway bunkers assertively; the rest sparingly. Greenside bunkers appear in moderation, but again they are deep and often very large. Two holes, noteworthy for strategic options, should be on your radar. A demanding par-4, the seventh’s complex landing zone means you’ll have a decision about just how to play the tee shot. The lengthy opening par-5 is more about temptation, but mainly for long hitters who may feel greedy. A caveat: only the left side permits an approach that can be run on to the green. Holes three through six are conventional but sound—workmanlike rather than problematic.
Some Conclusions:
–Coyote Run delivers momentum and intrigue hole after hole, while Eldorado Valley alternates between strength and restraint; together they elevate the course into excellent territory.
–Pace, unfortunately, led to a 4.5 hour round, and while not nearly slow enough to have read “A Farewell to Arms” between shots, it was a little plodding.
–Conditions were good, though dry fairways produced excessive runout into trouble. The standouts were greens and bunkers, which were excellent.
–Enjoyed the company of two genial gentlemen as my playing partners, both of whom enjoy playing at this Boulder Creek complex. Both were helpful in providing playing tips and insight into this course! Another pleasant day of Vegas-area golf.

Great course
My third time playing this course. Great layout, friendly staff and fantastic value. The course was in excellent shape and the greens were fast. Enjoyed it very much. Will come back.
Nice track
first time playing. Joined up with three others had a very pleasant round. The course is medium challenge and all obstacles are visible. Course condition was very good and the greens putted true. Overall, a nice round and a decent dollar value for the Las Vegas region. Would certainly play this course again
My Favorite Course
Out of every course I’ve played. This one has the nicest views and course conditions. I will 100% be going here again!
Great Greens!!!
Great layout with 360 degree views of the Mountains. Course great shape. Cart woman was kind and funny. Great bang for the buck. Only downfall was pace of play and never seeing a ranger on the course to help.
“Baller’z 25th Anniversary”
Well where do I start! Excellent staff, excellent customer service, excellent golf courses! I am a frequent golfer who resides in the Atlanta Ga. area, but I am also the organizer of about 60 golfers who came to play Boulder Creek golf club in the LAs Vegas area, and I speak for all 60 golfers, “it was truly an amazing experience!” My contact person “Sam” was an absolute pleasure to work with and a first class dude! This course just experienced aeration about three weeks ago and the golf course was unbelievably great! The greens could not have been in better condition, the fairways were plush, and the overall view was memorable! The staff friendly group was extremely knowledgeable and accommodating to our needs as a group, and made sure we were well taken care of. The weather was perfect and my guys are already asking to come back next year and do it again! Shout out to the Boulder Creek Golf course family! You are truly running a first class organization! Thanks again!
Great course. Bring your putting game
Great course good layout nicely challenging. The green ran quick but true. Definitely, look forward to playing it again. And they do offer rentals.
Great Course--must play!
The course is pristine! An incredible value for the money. The staff could not be any more friendly. Had a 3 o'clock teatime and finished all 18 holes. Piece of play was exceptional. One of my favorites!!
