Golfer Reviews
very forgiving course
The course was in good shape. It has a wide open layout which provides forgiveness off the tee if you spray it off to the right or left. Overall a good experience and I will go back.
Very Good Muni
The course was well bunkered and had a lot of trees. The trees were far enough off the fairway not to cause difficulty but there were plenty of them and finding shade to park in between shots was easy. The sand traps were actually dirt traps, but were well maintained. I have to figure out how to play out of them differently. There is a decent amount of water after hole 6 which is nice visually. Homes that border the course are in good shape, unlike some other courses in the Las Vegas area. For the $30 I paid for a 1pm tee time during peak season, it was a very good value. One strange thing is we zipped through the front nine and then it started backing up pretty badly. This was probably due to less groups teeing off after 12 noon than prior to it. Overall the course was in good shape and we had a great time on a beautiful day.
excellent shape plays well
We played on a Thursday but it looked like Saturday. The course was busy but they played 18 in just over 4 hours. The staff is extremely nice and helpful. I would recommend this course.
An enjoyable course.
Course has a good variety of holes. ace of playis good, in part, because there are no natural bottlenecks on the course. Tony made us feel welcome!
The course is in good shape but the pace of play is super slow we quit after 10 holes in 3 hrs 5min. No marshalls to pick up pace
People were very nice at course, greens in great shape and challenging but without a marshall I would not return
Course okay, decent value
Course was interesting and travels through various housing developments. Most of the older greens have pretty major front to back tilts so if you land short many greens are up-hill putts or downhill if long. Some greens look to have been rebuilt not that long ago and are more modern in design. Only real negative is the staff was not all helpful and seems like they could care less. Carts were pretty old as well, not a big deal in itself but mine had really bad brakes....
Greens in good shape, tees not so much. Fairways okay. Lots of broken or missing sprinkler covers so check them for your ball if you can't find it!
fun course, good time
the course was in great shape, we were paired with another couple. nice local people
Its an average course.
Course was average. Was a little slow playing. The value was good, with golf.now. Otherwise course a little too far for me to drive to.
Greens are rock hard - not well maintained
good course for beginners or if you're just looking to get hammered and not care of you play well. Pace of play is terribly slow due to so many beginners on the course.
was over booked
Was over booked. had to wait an half an hour after the tee time to tee off, called 4 hours earlier to see if there was any delay., and was told everything was on time because had to catch a plane home later in the day, then got the golf cart just minutes before teeing off, after finishing the first hole had to wait for two groups to tee off the second hole, and saw 1 to two groups waiting on each of the next 3 tee boxes, so we left and went to see the hover dam,
Good course for the $, but.....
BC Muni is a true muni. Lots of locals flock here for the great rates and a course you can truely hone your game on. If you like to walk I highly recommend going here. Most rounds Ive played have been closer to 5 hours than 4. Always busy, usually in good condition but has slid down a bit with 1 lost green (#11) yesterday and lots of potholes for the cart to navigate. If you stray into the rough, particularly on the back 9, be aware of the minefield of mature tree roots or risk serious injury!
walking course, good practice areas (mats) also an area to shag golf balls.
Only reason to downgrade was because of slow pace of play. It took 5hrs 10min. Teed off Friday 10:52 good wx, No marshal, open holes, voiced our thoughts to Pro/Pro shop. Maybe bad timing. Anyone in my group has yet to play there again, except for me. One other time this year (2013) and pace of play was near 4 1/2 hrs. Could have been a little faster but enjoyable. I really have a hard time personally down grading any course because I just love golf, but slow play is hard to swallow. My foursome ranges from a 9-22 handicap and average 4hrs 15min a round. Ready golf, and if a ball might be lost hit a provisional to speed play.
Great value!
The course was in good shape. Staff was very friendly. I recommend eating there food was execellent.
good value at $30
Course has more character than average muni-fairways ok for time of year -greens rolled good, average speed-played at 11:30 on a wed in just over 3 hours-winds can be strong during winter months
Course needs help
fairways were great, greens were average, although different speeds on greens made it difficult to be an accurate putter. the real problem was there ruff which was ruff. the ruff was patchy. other than that not a bad little course.
worth the money...but!
the check in process was slow and for whatever reason i had what seemed like a book of receipts when i left to see the starter. couldnt find the starter so just headed out to the 1st tee where another golfer had taken the backlog of waiting players under his wing in order to establish some order....my partner and i were teamed up with a husband and wife transplanted from ely to vegas just weeks before playing...they(dave & tania) were the nicest people i have EVER played with....all in all a great experience outside of getting off the 1st tee...course was in good shape for a muni and at $30 great value
Easy municipal course.
I like the folks here. The fairways are wide open. Just stay away from the big cotton wood trees and roots. Greens on 14 of 18 holes were in very good shape.
