Sunridge Golf Club

I’ve played here 4 or 5 times now and it frustrates me every single time. Yes it has some views. During prime time the greens are among the best in Carson valley. Yes it’s challenging and when you nail your shots it can be extra rewarding knowing that you dodged a multitude of hazards to get on in regulation.

If you don’t hit your targets exactly you will loose a lot of balls out here. Many fairways landing zones are very small and it can be really hard to judge with wind, elevation changes, and when you factor in a tee shot coming into the fairway at an angle you have to know EXACTLY where to place your ball. Executing that exact shot is only part of the problem. Slight miss hits will likely be in a hazard. Fairways run fast and the long grass isn’t long enough to hold anything rolling through it. I’m about a 10hdcp. If you enjoy the course management side of playing golf, without ever taking a mental break form it during a round, then you’ll enjoy playing here and you’ll have your work cut out for you.

We always have a great time playing this course. Our last visit was no exception. My son is 16 and a member of “youth on course”. Because of logistics, I sometimes set up a tee time using this app. There’s no way to add my son to the group unless I follow up the reservation with a call to complete the process. I failed to do so and showed up with tail between legs. Ken was the boss and went beyond, He got us out and I enjoyed my B. Day with my boy.

Typical Sunridge awesome staff and as unique as their golf course. It was a beautiful day the course was in good shape except for the 13 th green. Though Sunridge has probably the fairest greens for roll in the area this time of year.

One of my two favorites in Carson City (the other Genoa Ranch). Course is in great shape, challenging, and really nice greens. Staff is amazing here.

Wind creates challenges. Back nine is a bit hockey-doky. Pace can lag at times. It’s a really fun course.

The tee boxes were domed and hard to find a flat area where you could get a good stance. Other than that the course was in wonderful shape.

We got a deal on GolfNow so price point was good. Course is in better shape than when I played there regularly 2 years ago even though, I would say, it could always be better. Rough is mowed much shorter now than I remember so round was faster not having to search for balls in 2nd cut.

Not sure why earlier morning on GolfNow is up to $70. Seems like they would get more rounds played if price was $50 or less to compete with Eagle Valley.

Been playing Sunridge for years. interesting course with some very challenging holes, especially last 5 on the hill with huge elevation changes and 1st 13 holes have lots of water. Course has bounced back and forth over the years from really fast and true greens to highly questionable condition. Course was overly wet, but greens were in very good condition for first time in a while. fairways were pretty good with some very damp spots. weather and pace of play were great. finished in just over 3 hours.

Beautiful course and layout. Some very interesting holes and great scenery. Lady that was working the pro shop was exceptionally nice! I’ll definitely play here again if back in the are!

If you want to play a fun Golf Course, this is a must. First time on the course and I would play it every other day if I could. The views are unbelievable, the layout is fantastic and you earn everything that you get. The course was in great condition, staff was very friendly.. the only negative was we had one slow group in front of us, except for that I would play this course all the time. A really beautiful, challenging and I mean challenging course with lots of changes in altitude and difficulty. I will be back.
