Sunridge Golf Club

Could be a Great course, fix the bunkers, drain the water out of them, and put some decent sand in. Fairways had massive amounts of weeds, dandelions, etc. probably won’t play here again.

Your round here will be a better experience with a decent GPS app on your phone.

Visuals, especially off the tee, can be deceiving. Trust your numbers and be prepared to take less than driver off some of the par-4s.

Course has some rough spots and greens were on the slow side.

Staff is very friendly. Marshall did his best to keep pace of play up but a rowdy "men's club" league ahead of us led to a five-hour round.

Lots of water, plenty of hills and amazing scenery.

If not, do NOT consider walking Sunridge. This local course is more character than a typical muni should have. The front 9 will keep you thinking and it plays very fair, The first part of the back 10-13 are OK but really unmemorable especially since 14-18 are so much fun. The views, expecially in the Spring are fantastic with the Sierras and Heavenly Ski Resort overlooking the course.

Greens were recently punched and sanded. Overall the course is in good condition. Very scenic views, nice pace of play.

Course in great shape. Fun layout. Good mix of water and elevated view holes Great staff and friendly. Highly recommend it.

First round in a long time a Sunridge. Conditions have vastly improved. Poor design could be changed by turning the 14th hole into a par 3. Two other holes have too much brush next to the green, with water on the other side. Will lay up 20 yards short next time, to penal if you miss green either way.

I’ve played here 4 or 5 times now and it frustrates me every single time. Yes it has some views. During prime time the greens are among the best in Carson valley. Yes it’s challenging and when you nail your shots it can be extra rewarding knowing that you dodged a multitude of hazards to get on in regulation.

If you don’t hit your targets exactly you will loose a lot of balls out here. Many fairways landing zones are very small and it can be really hard to judge with wind, elevation changes, and when you factor in a tee shot coming into the fairway at an angle you have to know EXACTLY where to place your ball. Executing that exact shot is only part of the problem. Slight miss hits will likely be in a hazard. Fairways run fast and the long grass isn’t long enough to hold anything rolling through it. I’m about a 10hdcp. If you enjoy the course management side of playing golf, without ever taking a mental break form it during a round, then you’ll enjoy playing here and you’ll have your work cut out for you.

Wasn't prepared for spectacular scenery and elevation changes on this course.

We always have a great time playing this course. Our last visit was no exception. My son is 16 and a member of “youth on course”. Because of logistics, I sometimes set up a tee time using this app. There’s no way to add my son to the group unless I follow up the reservation with a call to complete the process. I failed to do so and showed up with tail between legs. Ken was the boss and went beyond, He got us out and I enjoyed my B. Day with my boy.
