Sierra/Comstock at Empire Ranch Golf Course
About
The Sierra/Comstock Course is one of three 18-hole combinations provided by the three individual nines at Empire Ranch Golf Course. Nestled in the scenic Carson Valley, Empire Ranch features 27 holes of golf that overlook the Carson River. Although the golf courses have a seemingly secluded location rolling along dramatic bluffs, they are actually only minutes from downtown Carson City. Sierra/Comstock features smooth, fast greens and tight fairways, but the layout is forgiving enough for players of all skill levels to enjoy. Empire Ranch, in addition to the three courses, offers a full practice complex with a 300-yard driving range and a teaching facility that offers personalized instruction for all skill levels.

Golfer Reviews
Ok course
Had an early tee time 9. Got there early and I got out early. Nice layout but has some fairways issues. It looks like they’re taking care of it. Greens were sponges in some areas. I would try it again. Friendly staff.
9 Hole
A little wet but great course we had a great day!
Overall good
One of my favorite courses around. I travel an hour to play but a couple things bother me. The biggest is one staff member who just is flat out unfriendly. I try like crazy to be overly friends but just doesnt work, thought was me but when I hear members talking about him too I know it isn't. Will say, other staff members are super super awesome....other thing is the course it self needs work. If you dont want to take care of the sand traps get rid of them and some fairways are weeds.. overall, I do enjoy playing there and have meet a few members and do enjoy playing with them and will continue to play there when in town..
Empire Ranch Golf Course
Course is looking great considering the weather and temperatures this summer, staff have been working to improve greens and fairways. Course is subject to flooding as it is surrounded by a river but hasn't happened this year. Greens were rolling slow and have a decent amount of soft feel. Easy to control your approach shots, there are a few fairways that have divots but remember to fill your divots. 4.3/5

Course in great shape. Enjoy the area. Very scenic.
Great course. Make sure you tell the club house you plan to play what you paid for
Probably the third time I showed up for my 2:30pm tee time to play 18 and on about the 10th hole the gentleman from the club house rolled up and said “I want to go home soon” and cut us short when we paid for 18. It’s fine and the course itself is awesome but just feel like maybe don’t allow someone to book a round of 18 in the afternoon when your workers “want to go home” so your paying customer gets shorted. Refund would be cool on the back 9
Very good
Swampy challenge, little shade, nice fairways and greens
