Located in Little River, S.C., Eagle Nest opened in 1971 and was designed by Golf Course Architect Gene Hamm. The layout is laid out across 250 acres of gently rolling land, rare for a course near Myrtle Beach. The course has been upgraded recently and includes a set of "Perch" tee boxes that play over 8,100 yards, making it the state's longest golf course.

Super senior and player-friendly tee boxes up front have also been installed. This traditional low country layout features not only rolling undulations in it but mature Carolina pines, an abundance of wildlife and beautiful natural landscaping.

Course was fine; pariing was a challenge

Course was in very good condition for early April. Pace of play was good. Was paired with a heavy beer drinker and two novice golfers. Not the best.

Will come back

Nothing spectacular with the course but it is a nice layout with well maintained tees and greens. Good value for the money. Watch out holes 16-17-18 they might come and bite you!

Classic track

The course reminds me of a classic layout in North Carolina not a beach resort type track. It is a fun place to play.

Surprisingly Fun and Beautiful Course

This course is outside the normal Myrtle Beach rotation. Staff, on the phone and in person, were super nice - about the best we experienced this trip. It's a mostly flat course, with mature trees and some water hazards that may not be not evident from the tee boxes. The carts are above average, and the cart paths are mostly on sand. Course conditions were pretty typical for this time of year - dormant grass in the rough, but the fairways and tee boxes and greens were all in good shape. Driving range and putting green were close to the clubhouse and let you practice all the clubs in the bag. Despite a steady flow of players, the pace was good, with no abnormal waits or backups. A nice bonus was all the birds and birdsong. It really felt like you were out in nature. First time we have played here, but will not be the last.

Slow Play

Once again it took over 5 hours to play the round. Did not see Marshals out to move things. Not sure if I will play this course again. Played this course twice only because close to where I’m staying

Different

Each year we usually play here a few times. This was the first time this year and I was surprised to find the course less appealing than all but one of the courses we had already played this year.
