Located in Little River, S.C., Eagle Nest opened in 1971 and was designed by Golf Course Architect Gene Hamm. The layout is laid out across 250 acres of gently rolling land, rare for a course near Myrtle Beach. The course has been upgraded recently and includes a set of "Perch" tee boxes that play over 8,100 yards, making it the state's longest golf course.

Super senior and player-friendly tee boxes up front have also been installed. This traditional low country layout features not only rolling undulations in it but mature Carolina pines, an abundance of wildlife and beautiful natural landscaping.

Great layout

The course has a great layout with holes designed to challenge your skills. Shot making is crucial to score well. Slight drawback, slow greens.

Greens too slow

We knew the greens were aerated within the last month but they weren’t cut recently and were really slow and bumpy. The rest of the course was great for the $$ and liked the layout. Pace of play was just ok.

Something Different

Eagles Nest is a great and interesting layout. It's fun and challenging from the Blue tees with a rating of 72.3 and a slope of 130. Since we are from Scottsdale AZ, this was something different. For my eldest son's college graduation present, he asked if we could go golfing someplace different. Not the usual AZ & CA places we go but something like Hilton Head or Myrtle Beach, we chose a week long golf trip to Myrtle Beach. We had a great time the course is great, I highly recommend it.

Terrible Customer Experience

At the turn we went in for food and drinks. The guy at the register misplaced our cash then said we didn’t pay. I made them pull their camera - to then show we paid. We continued to golf. At hole 11 the same guy chased us down to show us his transaction statements - again advising we didn’t pay. We have him more money to cover so he would leave us alone. After we finished - went back into manager office to watch the video for the 2nd time. Again, the video showed we paid and they gave us money back. We wasted 30 plus minutes on this, and the bigger issue is - they did NOTHING to make the situation right. They could have watched the video a 2nd time while we finished our back nine - instead chased us down and made us waste more time reviewing the footage with them. At the end of it all - he forgot he took the first Bill - then another employee took the 2nd and put in register while we were reviewing the video for the first time. Complete mess and lack of customer care

Fantastic

Mostly open fairways make this a forgiving first shot course. Local knowledge would help a few dog leg holes (don’t hit driver unless you can shape it). Staff are very friendly and accommodating. Let me start off on the quiet back to get a round done in under 3 hours. Beautiful scenic course, take your time to look around. They are also maintaining the course well with a lot newly placed sod around.

Can’t wait to go back.

Great Time

I played from the white tees and enjoyed the course conditions and pace of play in the afternoon. The greens had just been aerated but I could hardly notice. Will play here again.

Great course

My fiancé and I wanted to get a round in while we’re here from Maryland and this course did not disappoint. The fairways are wide open for the most part and the greens started to speed up once the sun warmed them up.
