Nostalgia
River club was the first course my then, 9 year old son played 18 with me and my buddies. He fell in love with the layout and course challenges. We had played the course numerous times over the years. We were in town for a funeral so we snuck out for an early round. Tee time 7:53 am. Paired with another father son twosome. Very nice folks. The threesome ahead of us took almost three hours to play the front 9. We stated our concern to the ranger. We complained at the turn. Our complaint fell on deaf ears. To our surprise the slothful threesome picked up a fourth player at the turn. Let the fun begin. Oh well. The condition of the greens was not good. Very fuzzy and bumpy. Putting was quite the adventure. At 10 am the beverage cart arrived and the day got more relaxed. We all had a fun time but would have enjoyed the course with a reasonable pace of play and better conditioned greens.
Challenging course with lots of water
Greens were beautiful! Challenging but fun course surrounded by lots of water. Had a great time!
Fun round
We had a fun round at River Club. Greens are a little beat up because people don’t repair their ball marks but the rest of the course is in great shape and the staff are awesome.
RIVER CLUB GREAT DAY
Very good day. Thought it would be slow round but after couple holes it was steady pace. Noone behind us for several holes (1pm tee). Course in great shape and had a good day.
Loved the course
Course was in excellent condition, holes challenging, but fair. Loved the entire experience regardless how poorly I played!
Pleasant and helpful staff
Slightly over crowded. Took nearly 5 hours to play.
This course has grass in the fairways to hit off...nice
Nice fairways where the ball sits up for good contact. Greens very smooth but not terribly fast.
Pace was a little slow on the back but finished in 4 hrs.
Teeing areas were flat and not chewed up.
Layout is typical with lots of dog legs and bunkers..
I will play again.
Should be called Sand Valley and not the River Club
Listen. I do not normally do reviews on here but hoping someone at the club views especially since it was such a nice layout. The place was full of traps. I don't mind traps at all but when the sand, what sand there was, was so inconsistent, it was a major penalty to be in one. All I ask is that if your going to shape the holes and the greens by traps, which I liked, you need to make the traps playable. Love to come back again when the course if fair.
Cart path only due to overseeding was not necessary
The course was pretty but we were paired with another twosome who had never played before. There was no signage indicating the path to next hole. It was cart path only and we had a long slow round. The greens were hairy and slow.
Great course
Challenging course. Lots of fun driving holes navigating around bunkers and some slight doglegs. Not too tight. Greens aren’t fast right now, but they are smoother and truer than most for this time of year. They rolled pretty well. Overall, one of the better ones we’ve played this week and worth a little extra money.
Very nice course
We played the day after a huge storm. The course was in amazing shape and we were first out. Staff was great. I am sure we’ll play it again!
Beautiful Course
Great layout with perfect fairways and beautiful greens make this track a must play for avid golfers of all skills. Water everywhere. Bunkers galore. Bring your A game. This course will test your skills. Played it 3 times this year and conditions were very good every time. Can’t go wrong here!
