Carved from Stafford County's rolling, emerald green hills, Augustine Golf Club plays across a scenic landscape abundant with mature pines and hardwoods. The pristine white bunkers and the lush fairways contrast nicely with the trees. The course conveniently sits just 30 miles from the Washington Beltway. In 2011 when the golf course was acquired by Raspberry Golf Management, who are responsible for several courses in the area, Augustine underwent major renovations that increased its playability. The greens, fairways, rough, bunkers, and tee boxes were all redone. The layout offers a challenge but is gentle enough for beginners to approach with confidence. Included in a round of golf at Augustine are range balls and unlimited use of the driving range, which has different targets and a large putting green.

Charged me double

I arrived 30 minutes before my tee time and informed the staff that the other player could not make it. I could not call sooner because no one was there.

They called GoldNow and told them to charge me for a "no show".

This course is not even worth the $80 dollars I paid.

Horrible course conditions and when I called the "staff" member they said it was their policy.

Told them I would never be back.

GolfNow was no help either.

Local muni acts prestige

I live in the community. I spent a lot of money here save yourself the time and energy and go play somewhere else like the gauntlet they charge too much the course conditions are horrendous it never seems to improve and they still charge more than other courses that are much better. It is nothing more than a goat track and cannot be defined otherwise PLEASE save the money you will regret spending a dime at this establishment unless you’ve never played the course will not suit your needs and for the love of God if you see Ron Just make a u turn and go to the gauntlet. I love how they act like the course is still top 100 haha it’s ridiculous

Steady decline

I have been playing this course for numerous years and the quality of the course has steadily declined to the point that I don’t know if I’d play it again. While the staff were very nice and did advise of aerated greens before paying, and they did advise that the rates were lower because of that, the course is not worth the money even at that discounted rate anymore. At a normal rate near $70-80, and a discounted rate today of $45, the course conditons are that of a $15-20 course. Every fairway is essentially a dirt pasture with some grass thrown in. Even tee shots in the middle of the fairway, you’ll be hitting out of dirt on approach. The course layout is great and challenging, but I don’t think I’ll go back, especially with a full price rate near $70. And for reference, I played a $20 course in NJ less than a week ago that was in 10x better shape than this course.

Great course layout, very friendly staff. Pace of play was great. But fairways and greens were in terrible condition - worst I've seen at any couse this summer by far.

Bald Greens

Loved the course layout but the greens were in terrible shape. Putting was difficult with the bare spots and bumpy imperfections. Not worth the money til they fix the greens.

Course Continues to Struggle

Unfortunately, Augustine continues to struggle significantly. While the fairways are better now than they used to be, the grass is still quite thin in many places. They've added sand to the bunkers finally, but they are uneven and rather poorly maintained. The greens are atrocious. Bare spots, fungi, tears, and bumps everywhere. And finally, the pace of play is almost always slow. This last time I was there we managed to have 4 groups stacked up on a single hole. The course rarely has a marshal and if you call the clubhouse you normally just get excuses.

Too bad, because this was once a great track, and still has the potential to be great.

Golf at Augustine GC

The course was in great shape. The greens were really slow the day that I played. But, it was yup to me to adjust to them rolling slow.

One of the best in NoVA

Augustine was built as an upscale course that challenges good golfers while providing a classy clubhouse and practice areas. . After 20+ years it is still one of the best in VA. The course is in great shape with a challenging layout that requires a few forced carries over wetlands and greens that are immaculate.

DECENT COURSE

Course is pretty green given all the rain we have had. Greens were soft, rough was high at times. Softer greens got deep divots from balls, players not good at fixing them. And some players were dragging their feet so lots of drag marks on greens. Not on the course, but players not helping the course crew out at all.

Solid course, some singles mixed in between big groups that wouldn’t let singles play through causes some jams.

tough course okay conditions

Fairways thin in spots, green were shaggy...but hey it's 90+ outside. It's a great layout with some really tough holes aka 1- 4 . Backside a little easier but they lost some bunkers in summer showers.

Please don't come here if you are beginner. Got paired with a couple who were miserable. Too hard for them...it has many forced carries, water, etc..

thanks to the staff that replaced the empty water on a super hot day

starter was friendly and tried to help these beginners but they lost balls on just about every hole and killed the pace of play.

great layout, difficult course

The tee shot on two is one of my favorite and most challenging shots in golf. I think it's one of the hardest holes in the DMV. This course is hard. Holes 1 - 6 really challenge you. Many lakes, ditches and barrancas you need to clear, especially on front side. Please don't play here if you're afraid of clearing hazards unless you bring a lot of balls. It was in okay shape due to a recent storm that washed out some bunkers. The greens were wet and had not been cut. The bermuda is not fully grown out so some weird lies in fairway.. But hey, this is still a great layout. Yes you have to deal with I 95...take the express lanes..kudos to my partner who let me know that at 3 pm they change on weekend heading north. Strange no cart person but they did change out the empty water on a super hot day. Raspberry group has really saved this gem.
