Augustine Golf Club

About
Carved from Stafford County's rolling, emerald green hills, Augustine Golf Club plays across a scenic landscape abundant with mature pines and hardwoods. The pristine white bunkers and the lush fairways contrast nicely with the trees. The course conveniently sits just 30 miles from the Washington Beltway. In 2011 when the golf course was acquired by Raspberry Golf Management, who are responsible for several courses in the area, Augustine underwent major renovations that increased its playability. The greens, fairways, rough, bunkers, and tee boxes were all redone. The layout offers a challenge but is gentle enough for beginners to approach with confidence. Included in a round of golf at Augustine are range balls and unlimited use of the driving range, which has different targets and a large putting green.

tough course okay conditions
Fairways thin in spots, green were shaggy...but hey it's 90+ outside. It's a great layout with some really tough holes aka 1- 4 . Backside a little easier but they lost some bunkers in summer showers.
Please don't come here if you are beginner. Got paired with a couple who were miserable. Too hard for them...it has many forced carries, water, etc..
thanks to the staff that replaced the empty water on a super hot day
starter was friendly and tried to help these beginners but they lost balls on just about every hole and killed the pace of play.
Great course!
Bud in the proshop is amazing - thank you for your service!
Course is in great shape, players need to fix ball marks. Better than it used to be! Worth a trip and say hi to Bud, retired USMC!
great layout, difficult course
The tee shot on two is one of my favorite and most challenging shots in golf. I think it's one of the hardest holes in the DMV. This course is hard. Holes 1 - 6 really challenge you. Many lakes, ditches and barrancas you need to clear, especially on front side. Please don't play here if you're afraid of clearing hazards unless you bring a lot of balls. It was in okay shape due to a recent storm that washed out some bunkers. The greens were wet and had not been cut. The bermuda is not fully grown out so some weird lies in fairway.. But hey, this is still a great layout. Yes you have to deal with I 95...take the express lanes..kudos to my partner who let me know that at 3 pm they change on weekend heading north. Strange no cart person but they did change out the empty water on a super hot day. Raspberry group has really saved this gem.
Cart Path Only
Lots of rain night before round. CPO made for almost a 6hr round. Course conditions :tee boxes decent, fairways decent with a few bare spots, bunkers were washed out from rain storms. Greens were in good shape. Had fun playing this course
Great Potential, Needs Work
Augustine has the potential to be one of the best courses in NOVA. Fantastic layout and a few iconic holes. However, the course condition is subpar at best. Fairways are thin with many bare spots. I almost cheer for my ball to go into the rough so that I'll for sure have some grass to hit off of. The bunkers are worn down to the liners, and many of the fringes also need work. Greens are normally in pretty good condition. Pace of play is also often an issue.
Beautiful
Absolutely amazing course. Beautiful greens. Very well maintained.
Keep it in the fairway
If you’re a shot shaper you can score really well here. I hit a few shots that were near perfect. Unfortunately my next shot was a dud. I really like this course. I wish it wasn’t 45 minutes away from my house.
Augustine Golf Course
Great layout, great course, had a nice pro shop, friendly staff, and great Beer Selection with the cart girl.
Nice Course as far as layout
Fairways had very little grass for this time of year and most every sand trap was unplayable due to lack of sand...
Review
Bermuda grass had not come in. Fairways had little grass. Bunkers were packed and not raked. Cart path only on the day I played. Not one of Raspberry’s better courses.
If you love hard pan fairways…
I’m sorry I don’t know what other reviewers see in this place but I’ve seen better munis! The fairways had little to no grass so most of the time you’re hitting off of dirt. It was better to be in the rough! Sure it was nice that my drives all rolled out to 280-300 yards but come on, throw some water on this course! And the greens….still haven’t come back from being aerated and have some kind of fungus growing all over the place!
Should have known better and just stuck with courses I’ve played before and can count on!
Unpleasant surprise
Third time playing this course during the last 18 months. Until yesterday the course was enjoyable. On 4/20/25 the fairways had no grass!!!! Goats would have starved on the fairways. After the round I asked what had happened to the fairways. I was told it was due to no rain. I live within 40 miles of the course and have a green lawn without an irrigation system. Really disappointed with the conditions!!
