Augustine Golf Club
About
Carved from Stafford County's rolling, emerald green hills, Augustine Golf Club plays across a scenic landscape abundant with mature pines and hardwoods. The pristine white bunkers and the lush fairways contrast nicely with the trees. The course conveniently sits just 30 miles from the Washington Beltway. In 2011 when the golf course was acquired by Raspberry Golf Management, who are responsible for several courses in the area, Augustine underwent major renovations that increased its playability. The greens, fairways, rough, bunkers, and tee boxes were all redone. The layout offers a challenge but is gentle enough for beginners to approach with confidence. Included in a round of golf at Augustine are range balls and unlimited use of the driving range, which has different targets and a large putting green.

This course has a great layout
Part of the Raspberry Trail. This could be the best part. Very well designed and challenging. Various flat and sidehill lies and a course that definitely makes you think about position. I really was impressed. If you can keep the ball straight it is very fair. If you cannot you will see the score go up dramatically.
Nice layout with wide fairways for average golfers.
We played around 8 a.m. and the course was moist with grounds keepers working while we played. We wish they would have been a little more considerate by stopping or being out of our line. The bunkers were not dressed for our play so playing out of one of them was more difficult. The layout is nice and the staff was good. The only regret is above and that it might have been better later in the morning when it dried out more. It's a good course that is fair with big upside.
Great value when booking thru Golfnow.
Paid $49.00 thru Golfnow and that was a bargain for this quality of a course. The staff encouraged keeping a decent pace, but was never pushy.
Great course but greens a bit slow
Played at 9:45am for $49. Course conditions from tee to green were fairly good. Rough is not particularly tall but can be difficult since the ball has tendency to sit down and is tough to dig out. GPS was erratic and could not get many accurate readings. Not sure why. Greens were smooth but fairly slow (i.e., 7-8 stimp) - probably in order to protect greens from the heat. Pace of play was very good at just under 4 hours with only occasional waits.
Staff was very friendly and drink cart came by twice each 9 holes. If it weren't so far away, I'd probably play here more.
Decent course
Decent course. A few blind shots and some hills to contend with. A little harder for a first time player there not knowing the turns and complete hole layouts. I'm sure a second time around would ease the questioning of how to play holes properly. The grass in the fairways was nice and the ball sat up well for a clean shot and tee boxes were nice as well. The rough isnt long but your ball will settle down in it and disappear sometimes. Sand bunkers were light and fluffy ( at least the ones I had the opportunity to hit out of). Only bad issue I had were the greens. Very "ball marked" and that's not the courses fault but those who don't or don't know how to fix ball marks. People, please repair your ball marks. If you don't know how to do it properly Google it and learn the correct way. It saves the greens! The day I played it took 5 hours for 18 holes and that was pretty much due to the group in front of us playing sllloowww. I guess they missed the "Pace of Play" commercials on the Golf Channel in June? Hahaha! I will play this course again in the future.
Great Condition, Great Amenities, Excellent staff!
Awesome value at the Golf Now discounted price. This place is like a private country club. Range balls included w/greens fees. It was a very hot day, and the staff had coolers with clean towels in Ice water waiting at the cart return station. Cart attendant wiped all clubs clean. Beverage cart was available about 4 times during the 18 hole round. The only negative was that too many golfers did not fix the ball marks on the greens--That's due to lazy ignorant golfers, not the grounds crew. This is a very beautiful course. It was an overall awesome experience, and I will definitely take advantage of this special again soon.
Course in great condition
Course was in great condition. After the recent rains, the approach shots were soft. Greens were in very good condition, fast enough, but not too fast. Staff was friendly and accommodating.
A bit disappointed
Very disappointed that the driving range was closed and no notice given beforehand. The grounds people were pretty inconsiderate--driving around and very, very noisy.
Course, though was in pretty good shape, just that there were a too many distractions with the grounds crew. Started off badly with the driving range being closed.
Challenging Course
I enjoyed my round, generous fariways, Not alot of room off the fairways. Very well maintained.
Nice Layout, setting and very convenient.
A challenging layout, set very well in the terrrain. The housing community is set back far enough to not interfere with play or the visual asthetics. Convenient to Central and No Virginia, particularly if you can avoid I-95.
The course is in pristine condition
This is the best condition this course has been in since I started playing here 5 years ago. 3 years ago the greens were diseased and the fairways were overrun with weeds. Now, this course is Tour ready. They have done a fantastic job bringing it back. The price is a bit high compared to other local courses, but this course is in the best condition of all in the county.
Very Nice Course, Hard For First-Timers
Despite the beautiful vistas offered by the many elevated tee boxes, Augustine GC will challenge you from the openly shot with blind landing zones, deceiving yardages, and thick rough. The landscape itself is well-groomed and the greens roll nicely, slightly faster than average. I wasn't having a particularly good day off the tee, and as such, I nearly ran out of balls. That said, most of the fairways aren't hard to hit, but you have to know where to land the ball to have any chance at getting the ball on the green in two (or three).
The staff is very friendly and the amenities are decent, very nice clubhouse for those that like to spend time in it. A good GolfNow deal will leave you with a smile either way.
Well worth the visit, great layout and greens.
This course is back to its original great condition. challenging design, great views, not boring, and you must hit all your clubs. greens were in great shape and rolled with speed even when wet.
The old Augustine is back!
Course was in very good condition, even with all of the recent rain we've been having. Greens were rolling nice and the course looked great. Really enjoyed the round.
love the coarse
Third time playing love it. Thinking about joining because it is close to home great price and great condition.
Great Value!
I've played Augustine twice in the last 6 weeks and it's been a great experience both times. The course is in excellent condition - I only recall one edge of one green that could've been in better shape. Fairways are immaculate, bunkers are in good condition. Pace of play is excellent - I wasn't looking at my watch, but it took my foursome 4-4.25 hours to get through 18. Absolutely play here if you can get a deal on GolfNow - it's a great value!
Absolute delight!
All the good reviews are true. Nice layout, a fair test for average golfers. Conditions are pristine, greens roll nicely, about a 8-9 on the stimp, which is perfect for recreational golf. The staff was great, courteous and helpful in a low key way. The ice towel on the 12 hole on a hot day was a nice touch! All and all, a very good value on GolfNow. Highly recommended!
This course charged me an additional surcharge
I signed up for a $60.00 rate for two golfers via Golfnow website but was charged $70.00 at the golf course. I challenged the additional charge but was told it was a surcharge. I did not dispute the charge further because of my pending tee time and I did not want to inconvenience my guest debating $10.00 with the cashier.
Amazing comeback
This course has made an amazing recovery from just a couple of years ago. In great shape. Played around noon for 35.00. Marshall out bringing ice towels to players on a hot day. The only negative is driving south on interstate 95 with all of the road, work going on.
Course in good shape. Fair for all levels. Was cart path only due to heavy rain the previous day.
Staff very nice, course in good condition especially after heavy rain previous evening.
