Augustine Golf Club
About
Carved from Stafford County's rolling, emerald green hills, Augustine Golf Club plays across a scenic landscape abundant with mature pines and hardwoods. The pristine white bunkers and the lush fairways contrast nicely with the trees. The course conveniently sits just 30 miles from the Washington Beltway. In 2011 when the golf course was acquired by Raspberry Golf Management, who are responsible for several courses in the area, Augustine underwent major renovations that increased its playability. The greens, fairways, rough, bunkers, and tee boxes were all redone. The layout offers a challenge but is gentle enough for beginners to approach with confidence. Included in a round of golf at Augustine are range balls and unlimited use of the driving range, which has different targets and a large putting green.

Course was in good condition
The course is challenging and is in very good condition. Pace of play was a little slow.
Excellent course at a cost that can't be beat
Incredible course. Pristine fairways, challenging greens, excellent staff members, a beautiful pro shop. Everything you'd expect at a higher cost than what you actually have to pay. I feel like this club could bump up the greens fees and I'd still consider it a deal. Will definitely be returning.
Course is deceptively challenging. You have a lot of wide open fairways but don't expect to shoot your personal best here because it will break you. There's far too much green reading needed and the course is anything but flat.
Improved
Since Raspberry took this over the course conditions have improved tremendously. This is a nice course to play. The greens are in great shape, front was slow and on the back nine they were about a 10 or 11. Overall this track is really nice and like most courses in this area, overpriced. But I have yet to see more than 1 or 2 courses worth more than $50 in this area. The staff was really nice and friendly
Solid Course in need of a Marshall
The course is rather short, but in great shape! The only thing was a marshall/ranger to move the foursome in front of us along who played as if they were in the US Open...SLOW!
Such a fun course
I have played this course about a dozen times in the last year and it continues to be one of the most fun courses in the area. Despite the almost one hour drive to get there, it is well woth the drive. The course is so visually splendid, very quiet and green. Course was in very good condition and the greens were in the best shape I have seen. They are true and a good tight mowing away from being perfect. The staff is always friendly and I always seem to get paired up with great people.
Great course, nice layout... Pace of play = Awful
Augustine is coming back! It had died a slow painful death .. but it is back! Once again it has become an outstanding course! Conditions have improved greatly, the staff was amazingly nice the day we played, thanks Eric! The changes that have been made to the course over the past two years are near perfect. The only downfall the day we played (a Friday at 3:24PM) was the pace of play. It was Awful, a five plus hour round, waiting on nearly every shot! Come on people… While we’re young!
This course is a real treat.
The best course I have played this year. Greens are very difficult to read , but the roll is incredible. Obstacles on every hole. They will surely be seeing a lot more of me, can''t wait to get back.
fabulous course
starter greeted us with a smile, course a challenge, beautiful condition, lunch in clubhouse outstanding
Fast Greens and great fairways!
This course is in great condition and the the greens were probably running about an 8 or even 9 on the day. Lightning fast... The fairways are very green and great to hit out of and the rough is still a little "rough". A very challenging track and fun.
EXTREMELY IMPROVED!!!
Played here regularly back in the early 2000's, then it fell apart!! Haven't played it since 2007 until just recently in a charity event, and I have to say... WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!! Everything was in tournament condition! Loved the newly renovated greens and the bunkers were the best I've ever seen them!!! This course is definitely going back into my scheduled rotation!!!!!! Great job Raspberry Management!!!
Back to its top notch condition!
Augustine Golf Club in Stafford Virginia is back! The standard of care over the last several years has been erased and this challenging layout is once again in beautiful condition and a pleasure to play. The fairways and greens have returned to the top notch condition that allowed the average player to enjoy the track, while giving the accomplished player every opportunity to score. The staff is very friendly and accommodating and the clubhouse facilities are wonderful. You won't be sorry you booked a tee time at Augustine Golf Club.
The course is in great condition.
Very challenging and fantastic views at the same time. Great experience.
Great Layout - It's Back!
This course has always had a great layout, but the conditions went bad during the 2000's; now, the course is back! The tee boxes, fairways, bunkers and greens are superb. The only thing keeping this course from 5 Stars was the rough, it just has some growing-in to do. I was unbelievably impressed with the bunkers; think Augusta. They're bright white, very well edged, and firm in most places. The greens rolled true and looked amazing (bent). The Bermuda fairways ensure there is a lack of divots and were a pleasure to hit off of.
For any golfers in the area that wrote this course off years ago, it's time to give it another try. The management group that took over has done a fantastic job!
Lastly, the staff was as friendly as they could be. In particular, the cashier, Head Pro (David), starter, beverage girls, and Player Assistance gentleman. ALL made the experience a great one.
Augustine is about 10 minutes further than the courses I typically play; but it will be worth the drive from now on.
Best greens in Northern Virginia
Thought I'd give this course another try since it changed ownership and I heard that the new management team had turned things around. I'm glad I did - Augustine is in phenomenal shape; Overall the course is in great condition and the greens are the best I've played in Northern Virginia. The Raspberry group has really turned this course around after purchasing it a couple of years ago. The staff was very friendly and professional. Overall, Augustine gets an A+. I'll definitely play this course again.
Proceed with caution
This course is in above avg condition. The bunkers are very firm..and the course is littered with them. Very short and challenging course. You can probably leave the driver at home. Even the par fives don't set up for long drives. I hit avg 275 and was driving through most fairways. I'm a 9 handicap and this course was tough for me. Greens are super fast! I wouldn't pay more than $40 to play here. Bottom line.. If you are a low handicap that likes a short course...target golf and super fast greens..then this is the course for you. Good luck.
This course is fun to play
This course is fun to play . You have to learn how to pick your shoots. The people are nice and helpful and I will play there again
Great lay out
This was a fabulous course in the late 90's. Unfortunately it has gone through 3 owners since then and deteriated. I spoke with one of the staff and he indicated that the current owners are putting money and effort into bringing it back to shape.
The layout is terrific and can be very challenging. The staff could not have been nicer and the Golfnow discount made it a little more pallatable.
Augustine is looking good
The Augustine course is looking fantastic. The greens are rolling true, the fairways and roughs are full of grass and well mowed. Great course, what else can I say?
Nice greens
First time playing this course. Good elevation changes and the greens are fast and true. Entire staff is outstanding. Course was patchy, areas around the greens have a lot of bare spots. Overall nice course to play.
Great job with the renevations!!
Course was much better than anticipated. Greens were in great shape. Fairways were also solid, and tee boxes could use a little work. Glad to have another choice to play golf in the area again. Keep it up!!
