Augustine Golf Club
About
Carved from Stafford County's rolling, emerald green hills, Augustine Golf Club plays across a scenic landscape abundant with mature pines and hardwoods. The pristine white bunkers and the lush fairways contrast nicely with the trees. The course conveniently sits just 30 miles from the Washington Beltway. In 2011 when the golf course was acquired by Raspberry Golf Management, who are responsible for several courses in the area, Augustine underwent major renovations that increased its playability. The greens, fairways, rough, bunkers, and tee boxes were all redone. The layout offers a challenge but is gentle enough for beginners to approach with confidence. Included in a round of golf at Augustine are range balls and unlimited use of the driving range, which has different targets and a large putting green.

Really enjoyed the layout. Not overly long. challenging greens. Very friendly staff.
This was my first time playing Augustine. The course was in good condition considering the time of year. Bermuda is still dormant. The greens were in good shape, but running a little slow. I'm assuming this was due to the time of year. Green have a LOT of undulation, especially on the front 9, and I can see them being extremely challenging when they speed up the greens. Overall, great experience. Would definitely play Augustine again.
Great Course
Because of the rain and snow lately this course was a bit wet. This was my first time at Augustine and I was impressed even with the wetness. I can tell that in the spring and summer this course will be a gem. I will admit though, playing from the back tee's is a bit hard here. There are alot of hazards and it is easy to get into trouble. The first hole has a split fairway with a hazard in the middle, needless to say i lost a few balls. If your a average to good golfer I'd recommend this course. But beginners beware there are no gimmies here. This course is likely a 5 star when dry.
Great course
The regular rate is $65. I paid $40. The course is in near perfect condition. The greens were slow, but it is winter, and they were very consistant. I've never been dissappointed with the course, the scenery or the staff.
Great layout. One of my favorites in NOVA.
This course was in pristine condition 5 years ago. Taking into consideration that it is winter and that the course still recovering from the renovation, it seems like maintenance has been somewhat neglected. About half of the tee boxes need to be repaired and seeded. Sand traps have settled with muddy patches throughout making it almost hazardous trying to hit out of them. I know then stay off those green side bunkers. lol! Finally, the range balls are dead and can stand replacements.
Remember its January in Virginia
Considering the time of year the course was in very good shape.
Great price for a very nice course.
Highly recommended because the course is in great shape and the price is fantastic.
I love this courses layout.
I think this course has maintenance challenges, but it is a great design and layout and deserves success. They are doing everything right and it is well run throughout. Cordial/friendly staff. All things considered, it is my favorite course in the area right now. I just wish I lived closer. When they finally get everything rolling and their rates, perhaps, price me out, I will be happy for them, because this is a worthy course that deserves care and will accordingly warrant a higher pricing for players.
This course is well-maintained and challenging.
I have played Augustine 5 or 6 times this summer and I keep going back because the course is well maintained and challenging yet fun. It's also a better value (40 dollars for Sunday at 0830) than the other courses in the area. The practice facility includes a full sized range and the balls are provided at no extra charge. The putting green is an accurate representation of the greens on the course. There is no separate chipping area. On the course, players who are long off the tee will have to shape shots or hit into small windows to stay in play, which makes the course a lot of fun. The greens are large and undulating, so a two-putt is not guaranteed even for good putters. Guarded greens and flags also create a lot of high risk/reward approach shots that make the course interesting. The course website has a hole by hole feature so you can see what you're getting into before you go.
Nice layout
Course is a challenging 18 holes. Many doglegs throughout. Coused is immersed in a woodland setting with some homes, but houses are not up close to the playing area. The greens were immaculate for mid November. Staff was excellent to work with, clubs were loaded onto cart right in the parking lot and cleaned directly afterward as you putt out on the 18th green. Had a great time.
Top draw golf course but pace of play this past Sunday was bad!
This is the second time I have taken a group here in the past two weeks. Course is wonderful but pace of play was terrible this past round. Yes, it was an unusually nice day for this time of year and they did have a minor frost delay but it only slipped tee times by one group. There was never a marshall on the course and many times there were up to 4 groups on a hole. Obviously, that makes for a somewhat aggravating round of golf.
Course was in very good shape and the greens were very fast.
Pro Shop folks were very nice and check-in was quick and easy. Range and range balls were available and nice bennie to have included in Green Fees. Starter was funny and very friendly. If I had a NEGATIVE it was the slow play of the 2 2-somes and 1 4-some in front of us. Had to wait on too many holes and there was no Ranger on the course!!! We putted in the dark (5:30ish) on 18; teed off at 12:12pm. Overall, a good day!!!
best shape ever.....super winter rates now available....go play it!
go play it! and have fun.....super rates right now...
Almost back to previous stellar track status
I played this course after it initially opened and it was among the best in the area. At each tee box you would think to yourself that this must be the signature hole...they all looked that good. Plenty of challenge without being unfair and with fast and undulating greens. Then it went downhill and became literally unplayable. Recently it has been restored. I played it in the spring and it was not quite back to form. This last time, in the fall, it is very close to being back. A truly beautiful course with a decent range and putting area and good clubhouse. It played quickly as there were few others out that day. Definitely worth the price of admission.
Nice
Played this course several times and it was in great shape but the last 2 times I played it the greens were diseased. Look forward to layng it again n the near future
Fun layout
Took a little getting used to the course, not your run of the mill layout. Has a lot of fun holes, course was in very good shape and greens rolled true at a good pace. Would definitely go back, got discounted tee time thru golfnow, so really enjoyed the round.
good for $30
Paid $30 through Golf Now. Fair price. It is a great layout. Conditions need attention. Zero serivce. Unwelcoming staff. NO MARSHALLING! On a Thursday afternoon, there were three groups on the course, and at one point all three were on the shortest par 3 on the course! The type of people who play $30 courses have no etiquette. Not their fault they just do not know golf. This is a frequent problem at Augustine yet mentioning it to the staff is a complete waste of time. They once told my group, "oh, they are nice. Ask and they will let you through." That is NOT CUSTOMER SERVICE. Speaking to management does you no better.
Great course.
Cart path needs some attention in spots. Need more ball cleaners at tee boxes
Friendly staff, slow greens
I remember Augustine as one of the first upscale public courses in the area, and looked forward to playing there after an absence of many years.
I was encouraged by the sign touting "bringing Augustine back to premier status", as well as by the first two holes, which are classics.
The course design is solid, the staff was very friendly and helpful, and pace of play was good even though it was cart path only.
Greens were much slower than I would have expected, and couldn't have been stimping above 8.
Overall, good experience, but not at the level of the "premier status" of many of the other upscale public courses in the area.
