Carved from Stafford County's rolling, emerald green hills, Augustine Golf Club plays across a scenic landscape abundant with mature pines and hardwoods. The pristine white bunkers and the lush fairways contrast nicely with the trees. The course conveniently sits just 30 miles from the Washington Beltway. In 2011 when the golf course was acquired by Raspberry Golf Management, who are responsible for several courses in the area, Augustine underwent major renovations that increased its playability. The greens, fairways, rough, bunkers, and tee boxes were all redone. The layout offers a challenge but is gentle enough for beginners to approach with confidence. Included in a round of golf at Augustine are range balls and unlimited use of the driving range, which has different targets and a large putting green.

Friendly staff, slow greens

I remember Augustine as one of the first upscale public courses in the area, and looked forward to playing there after an absence of many years.
I was encouraged by the sign touting "bringing Augustine back to premier status", as well as by the first two holes, which are classics.
The course design is solid, the staff was very friendly and helpful, and pace of play was good even though it was cart path only.
Greens were much slower than I would have expected, and couldn't have been stimping above 8.
Overall, good experience, but not at the level of the "premier status" of many of the other upscale public courses in the area.

Will return, excellent experience.

The staff is immediately accomodating, the wait for your tt occurrs between the driving range and the practice green making warmup seamless on your way to the 1st tee-you'll need it. The front nine is difficult, you need to think through every shot. It eases up on the back. Houses are visible on the course but they never intrude, great design. The course suffered over the past few years but now is in great shape.

New Ownership, additional maintenance required on greens.

New Ownership, additional maintenance required on greens. New owner has made good stride in the upkeep but more work needed. Tough course.
