Pajaro Valley Golf Club
About
Originally designed by Floyd McFarkland, Pajaro Valley Golf Club has large Monterey Pines lining its generous rolling fairways. Elevated tees provide scenic views of the Pajaro Valley below. Opened in 1922 and redesigned in 1962 by Robert Muir Graves, the course features small bentgrass greens and four ponds with water in play on three holes. The fourth is one of the course's most challenging holes, a 420-yard par 4 with triple-tiered green. The course also was once the home of former U.S. Open champion Olin Dutra, who spent the last part of his career teaching here.

Horrible grounds conditions.
The rough was way overgrown. Clovers EVERYWHERE as well as white flowered weeds COVERING the fairways and rough. People were walking around searching for their balls in the middle of the fairways. Pace of play was crawling due to players looking for their balls in the flowers and in the deep, clover packed rough. Took 5.5 hrs to get through our round. The fairways looked like their was snow on them it was so bad. Greens were soaking wet and 50% of the rough areas were mud bogs and swamps. Any frass that WAS cut, all the trimmings were left in massive clumps everwhere.
Terrible shape
Don't know when I'll be back, but daisies in almost all fairways made it impossible to find your ball most of the time.
the Kart path are horrible i’m embarrassed for Pajaro
the t boxes need work also today signs everywhere CART PATH ONLY! impossible half of the holes don’t have completed cart paths
Spring conditions
It’s been a wet March here in Monterey Bay so I wasn’t surprised a couple of the holes at Pajaro were almost too wet to play. Hole 13 was basically unplayable.
The greens were fine but the Fairways and tee boxes were overgrown. Needed to use an orange ball because of the thickest carpet of white flowers I’ve ever played in on a golf course. That was a treat.
So was the golf course Grill. Excellent beverage selection and wonderful food. The Golf Course itself will be spectacular as soon as things dry out.
Fun course, way too expensive for conditions
Great layout for a course. Especially fun if you're just getting into golf since there are a lot of wide open fairways.
Over the past 3 years they've just hiked the price up consistently and at regular rates now, I wouldn't recommend playing here.
The golf carts hardly work and the course conditions aren't pretty. The greens are nice but the fairways are full of debri and flowers and on a few holes you're hitting out of a swamp if you land directly in the fairway.
Don't expect much
DON'T PLAY WHITE BALLS!
Bring yellow or some other color balls, there are SOOOO many white daisies that it's really hard to find your white ball or even overlook it.
It's my second time playing the course and it's a nice course but the condition is poor, they have really REALLY bad drainage issues so there are a lot of areas flooded, muddy, or mushy. Expect to get muddy shoes and clubs or even lose balls cause the ball will just sink into the mud, your ball will get dirty super quick as well cause of all the mud.
The staff is friendly at check-in, they do have a clubhouse and a range.
Carts are old so they have some issues but it is what it is.
Pace of play can be slow at times, no marshalls.
Course was closed due to wild fires in the area. I tried calling your customer support and could never get anyone to answer. Therefore I processed a charge back with my credit card.
Playing Del Monte today with GolfNow. Great day.
Never going back
I’m playing on a Thursday afternoon and was stuck behind 2 foursomes. I played the front in 2 hours then we caught up to the group in front. It was 3 hours and we only made it to 16. The white flowers in the fairways make finding your ball in the middle of the fairways a challenge. The greens are below average. I don’t care how cheap it is not going back. I will stick with Crazy Horse.
better than last time
course was green and better shape than the last time I played there. The carts could use an upgrade as they are band aided together. It was a beautiful day and after the group in front of us called it on 9 we cruised through the back 9 really quick.
PS when did Friday become the weekend at all of these courses. Possibly why play seems lighter on Fridays than it used to be with price increases at so many courses.
Sunday at PV
I 've been playing at Pajaro for about 50 years. It is a quick drive in the early morning as I live in Campbell. Yesterday the course was fantastic. Fairways, greens and tee boxes app top shelf. Weather was ideal. The Staff is exuberant always. Had a great time and y'all should give it a shot.
Pajaro Golf Course
The course fee is a little bit pricey considering the condition of the course. Cart's are old and some fairways are not well maintained. They have good course lay out just need to maintain the fairway.
One bad apple
Looks to me like the same unverified golfer (u000006495049) seems to have left 12 separate reviews of this course in attempt to lower its rating. Seems very suspicious to me... Maybe they have a personal problem?
Contrary to what the overall rating says for this course, it is a fantastic place to play!
I played last week and there were zero daisies visible anywhere (fairway or rough) and the greens were in great shape!
Afternoon/evening rounds are incredibly peaceful! There is a lot of wildlife to enjoy, and I love courses with Monterey cypress trees!
The people in the golf shop (and even the cart guys) are the nicest of any golf course around!
Too many daises
Can’t find my ball in the fairway because there are too many daisies. Course in rough shape, tacky decor
