This course is in terrible condition
Fairways are covered in burrowing animal holes and dirt. The greens are covered in fungus and burned out. Sand traps are hard pan and tee boxes are a mess.
Such a shame because this course has a nice layout, friendly staff and good food. They just don’t take care of it at all. I heard they are trying to sell and build homes on it so maybe they don’t care, but for 70-85.00 a round it should be in better shape. Bridges across the street is in great shape, but I hate the layout of that course.
Putting green conditions was worst
On the back nine, patches of grass are dead in several areas, but the most serious issue is the condition of the putting greens. The surface is so uneven that the ball bounces when putting, and when I step on the green, it sinks noticeably underfoot.
Expectations were low and still fell short
We walked off at the 17th tee after being on the course for 5+ hours. The course has a demanding layout yet is filled with beginners who are not being actively Marshalled and the wait for food at the turn is ridiculous. Tons of things they can do to improve pace of play but sadly no one here really cares.
Beyond pace, the course is in awful condition. Fairways are filled with holes and barren grass. Good luck finding a flat spot to tee up on the tee boxes. And if the greens aren’t full of Goose excrement, they are very bumpy, not mown, and sometimes barren as well.
Do this course a favor and don’t play here. The sooner it sells and comes under new management, the better for all involved. Sad to say we’ll never be coming back.
Speed up the greens
I went out with a couple buddies. Great course my only complaint is the speed of greens. They are very slow. Other than that, we had a wonderful time. The food is delicious there my friend had a Reuben sandwich that looked delicious. Even the hotdog was good with a great bun. I had a protein burger before I started, and that was delicious as well.
So much potential
$80+ for mud and sogginess in late July. This course can be amazing… it’s challenging, scenic, and fun. There is just an overall vibe of no one cares. Half the bunkers don’t even have rakes, the fairways are rough, tee boxes rough, no food/bev cart going around, etc…
course conditions
The course was challenging and pace of play was good. Greens were a little spongy and fairways had barren spots. Layout was interesting and fun due to the the different challenges each hole had to offer. The par 5's and some of the par 3's really played long.
Canyon Lakes
Nice track, and very challenging. The starter was super friendly and very helpful for us as first time players at Canyon Lakes. Nicely landscaped and well kept. Great value.
Very Nice Course. BUT...
There is no driving range, only two hit-into nets. So it's a take away to not how you're hitting it that day before you got out.
Also, we had to wait for a cart. I can't remember ever having to wait for a golf cart.
The geese and geese poop all over the 4th green (which is an awesome playing hole) was a nuisance. I hear the geese always there.
I keep coming back
This place is heaven. I just love how relaxed I am when I’m here. Course is challenging… but u will want to return. Coach n terry r the best !!
