Canyon Lakes Golf Course & Brewery

I went to play canyon lake today and the course was a great condition. However, upon arrival, they did not honor the price I booked on Golf now. They said that was an error on their part and continued to charge me to full rate. The staff member there said they will leave a message for the manager to call me if I should be reimbursed for the difference for the price I had booked on Golfnow. I don’t believe that is a correct way to conduct business as I showed the receipt I booked online. I have yet to hear back from the manager.

Course is in pretty decent shape. One major issue was the tee boxes for the blue tees. Wasn’t much grass and hard to maintain footing, Greens held and rolled well. Been years since I’ve played here, but all in all wasn’t a bad experience. The on the course staff was friendly and help keep things moving.

Good course to get on at the last minute. I understand there is no driving range...but come on...some new mats after 20 years or so and more than 10 balls into a net would be a welcome upgrade.

Everyone there is friendly while also Covid compliant as much as possible.

They could do some easy maintenance to upgrade...like punching the ground and seeding right before some rain comes in.

Is one of more challenging courses that I have play lots of unique characters we definitely be back and play again soon

Tee boxes need work. Beer girl needs to carry sandwiches. Power bars and peanut, trail mix are good but need some real food. Course was a bit dry in places. Otherwise was a great day of golf

Started at 10:30 am and left 4 holes early because the round was going to be 5.5 hours long for no reason other than a 4some who didn't care about backing up the whole course. Marshall saw said slow group watched them take forever and did nothing except smile and wave as we waited 20 minutes in-between our shots.. Course was in whatever shape and had some burn marks on the greens and bad sand traps. Also the walks between most holes are so far apart people who chose to walk just destroy the pace of play. Why have a Marshall if they do nothing to speed up pace, Will never be returning to this sub standard course.

Donnot walk on this course, i was really tired on the last few holes. Ride cart should be mich enjoyable.

I have played this course many times and appreciate the efforts of ownership to improve the quality of the course.

I have to say this time around was not good as far as course conditions, lots of bald areas on fairways. Very little grass anywhere on the course. Tee boxes were very bad and the greens were pretty beat up. It felt like they are getting so much play they can't keep up the course.

The staff as usual was friendly and helpful. I felt very welcome.

I probably won't go back until spring when I expect the course will be back to a more playable condition.

Course is mostly in poor condition. The greens were ok and fast, but that was about it.

It's been a long time coming but they finally fixed the traps. Greens were good. Fairways watered where they need to be. Was a little weird that you aren't allowed to check in until 5 minutes before tee time. Otherwise smooth round and always a good challenge.

It’s a short course but tough layout course, risk reward holes. Tough par 3s. Fairways in good condition but Tee Boxes could use some work. Greens are fast.

I play here a few times a month. It’s good value and a nice/challenging layout in decent condition.

However, every single time the pace of play is slow, but the marshal is usually out and very good at telling people to pick it up or get off the course. Not today though. It tools us close to 3 hours to play 9 and we left after that. There was a group of 12 (not all at the same tee time) in front us. It backed everyone up to the point we’d have three foursomes at a tee box. This is unacceptable.

Clearly the course can’t know if someone shouldn’t be out there (this group should not have been) but they have to police this via the Marshall. It’s excruciating and the 12 super hacks in front of us were clueless.

I’m going to skip playing here for a while. It’s just too painful to play a 6 hour round.

The course was a little soggy after a couple of days of rain, but still very playable. Some fairways were a little thin on grass so you saw the dirt underneath. Great views on 17 & 18. I'll come back again soon.
