About
Set in the heart of the Grand Strand's Lowcountry plantation area, Indigo Creek is laid out through large oaks and flowing creeks, especially the back nine, though the views have been somewhat spoiled by housing. The course is built over an old rice and indigo plantation with some nice elevation changes, lakes, waste bunkers and undulating greens. It's a Willard Byrd design, with Bermuda greens and a slope rating of 128.
Indigo Creek is another of those Myrtle Beach-area courses that fell into a disreputable state only to be saved by a new ownership group. One golfer who'd had a bad experience there described it after the refurbishment as the best-conditioned course in Myrtle Beach.
Indigo Creek isn't overly long at 6,744 yards (the shortest of its four sets of tees shortens to 5,921. It is an exciting course with an significant number of doglegs, bunkers and water. The back nine is set among giant oaks and gently flowing creeks.

Unusually Slow
Course is in average condition compared to other courses in the area for this time of year. I've played there before and the pace of play usually is ok. However, the front nine took 2 hours and 45 minutes due to a a group that shouldn't have been allowed on the course. We played as a fivesome and waited every shot on every hole. Normally not an issue so it was probably a one time event.

Worst Golf experience of my entire life
Went here while vacationing in Myrtle Beach with a few friends. Thought it would be fun to go here with my friends (who are not good golfers) because it was cheap. Course had a really nice layout but was poorly maintained but I was okay with that for 20$. The part that made me write this review was the pace of play was THE ABSOLUTE SLOWEST of any golf course I’ve ever played as the group in front of us was comprised of 4 old men who if I had to estimate would’ve shot around 170 at best, we waited 15 mins at a minimum on every tee box and when we finally called the ranger due to them getting aggressive with us for “rushing them” he basically told us there’s nothing he can do. Overall round took 6.5 hours. Would never ever waste my time and money here ever again it was the most unenjoyable golf I’ve ever played in my life. And if those old men are reading this, you guys should really think about taking up fishing because you are a disgrace to the game of golf not because you are the worst players I’ve ever seen but because you guys don’t know that you suck ruining the entire round for everyone on the course. You guys are not tour pros it shouldn’t take 10 mins every time you line up a shot and you don’t have to wait for a green to clear from 260 when your furthest drive only goes 120. Never ever again will I come back

Indigo creek
Probably a good value for the money but fairways had quite a bit of detritus and many bunkers were full of water

Not Bad for the Price
Overall the course has a good layout, however the fairey's were beat up even for it being off season. The greens were in good shape and were consistent and true. They said it had been raining a lot which showed from some of the bunkers with standing water. Work on the fairways and I'd love to play it again.
