About
Set in the heart of the Grand Strand's Lowcountry plantation area, Indigo Creek is laid out through large oaks and flowing creeks, especially the back nine, though the views have been somewhat spoiled by housing. The course is built over an old rice and indigo plantation with some nice elevation changes, lakes, waste bunkers and undulating greens. It's a Willard Byrd design, with Bermuda greens and a slope rating of 128.
Indigo Creek is another of those Myrtle Beach-area courses that fell into a disreputable state only to be saved by a new ownership group. One golfer who'd had a bad experience there described it after the refurbishment as the best-conditioned course in Myrtle Beach.
Indigo Creek isn't overly long at 6,744 yards (the shortest of its four sets of tees shortens to 5,921. It is an exciting course with an significant number of doglegs, bunkers and water. The back nine is set among giant oaks and gently flowing creeks.

Mine and many locals , to go to course .
Been golfing here a couple years and have seen many improvements and they continue to improve. Great family atmosphere that welcome with open arms . If you haven’t been here lately, try again !
POOR CONDITIONS vs.LOT LOWER GEEN FEES .

Good course for the price
Great layout and scenery. Not the best conditions in the area but for the price its a great track that is both interesting and challenging. Played here twice this month while we were in town. Friendly staff also!

Good Course for the price
Friendly staff. Pace of play was great and they didn’t pair us up. For what I paid I’d play again. Wouldn’t pay any more than the $40 I paid.

Bad greens
Ok course. Greens were in bad shape. Couldn’t putt. Ball would bounce all over the place. Wouldn’t hold a chip.

Range balls
Course was excellent. Greens were also. Staff was great. First time I every had to collect my own range balls. Felt bad for the cart guy..He was not happy. But he tried his best. Will definitely keep it on the return list.

Poor course maintenance
I was not expecting immaculate conditions given the price of the round, but the fairways and tee boxes weren't cut and had weeds. The bunkers weren't in great shape either: washed out, no sand, etc...
The course is a fun layout and would be a good value, if only the course was maintained somewhat decently.

Nice layout
The course was in fair condition tee to green but the greens were slow and hard to hold with approach shots. Overall the course is a moderate challenge with hidden hazards for the 1st time player, luckily I played with some guys who had local knowledge of where to avoid. As long as you keep it in the fairway you should do ok, missing the fairway on some holes will cause trouble.

Needs improvements
With the number of options available in the Myrtle Beach area, it’s hard to comprehend how this one can compete with such poor conditions. Tee boxes were barely covered with grass and most tee areas were less than 10’ wide. The “grass” in the rough was often comprised of clover, dollar weed and other grasses that were anything but what you’d expect on an average quality golf course.
Greens are small but rolled okay. Sand traps were inconsistent with several filled with brackish water and weeds, others with ungroomed beach like sand.
There are too many really good options at many price points throughout the Grand Strand area to spend money and time on this one.
