About
Set in the heart of the Grand Strand's Lowcountry plantation area, Indigo Creek is laid out through large oaks and flowing creeks, especially the back nine, though the views have been somewhat spoiled by housing. The course is built over an old rice and indigo plantation with some nice elevation changes, lakes, waste bunkers and undulating greens. It's a Willard Byrd design, with Bermuda greens and a slope rating of 128.
Indigo Creek is another of those Myrtle Beach-area courses that fell into a disreputable state only to be saved by a new ownership group. One golfer who'd had a bad experience there described it after the refurbishment as the best-conditioned course in Myrtle Beach.
Indigo Creek isn't overly long at 6,744 yards (the shortest of its four sets of tees shortens to 5,921. It is an exciting course with an significant number of doglegs, bunkers and water. The back nine is set among giant oaks and gently flowing creeks.

Very wet!
Cart path only on this date, but still only took 4 hours to play.

Needs maintenance
Staff personnel very friendly and helpful. Course needs work. Bunkers are in terrible shape. Greens are in the best shape I’ve seen them in a couple of years but not up to par. Course lacks Maitenance.

Over booked
The course itself is fine. Good layout and greens. Not a premium course but not a premium price either.
The bad was that we teed off over an hour past our tee time and it took 3 hrs. to finish 9 holes. We are a very patient group, equipped with cigars and cocktails, however, we left after the 10th hole when we saw it was jammed up again on 11.
The review requires a yes or no answer regarding recommendation. If there was a maybe, I would have checked that.

Greens Great/Fairways Okay
Played Indigo Creek Sunday. Overall Course conditions were good. The fairways needed some work, but it is only March. The greens were in great condition. They were a little slow but rolled true.

Greens fine; fairways not
Beautiful scenery. Greens in great shape. Sand traps horrible; should just change to grass traps. No real grass on fairways. Also very damp underneath - you can get muddy from your divot.

Nice course
It’s too bad it was cart paths only, the course was wet in spots.

We play this course probably twice a week and would recommend it to others. The reason for the low rating this time was it was cart path only . We booked thru golf now so we could not cancel. I understand the cart path only but I think the course should of been closed.

Great course
Great course, great layout! Greens could be swept a lot of pine needles. Other than that, everything was amazing!
