About
Set in the heart of the Grand Strand's Lowcountry plantation area, Indigo Creek is laid out through large oaks and flowing creeks, especially the back nine, though the views have been somewhat spoiled by housing. The course is built over an old rice and indigo plantation with some nice elevation changes, lakes, waste bunkers and undulating greens. It's a Willard Byrd design, with Bermuda greens and a slope rating of 128.
Indigo Creek is another of those Myrtle Beach-area courses that fell into a disreputable state only to be saved by a new ownership group. One golfer who'd had a bad experience there described it after the refurbishment as the best-conditioned course in Myrtle Beach.
Indigo Creek isn't overly long at 6,744 yards (the shortest of its four sets of tees shortens to 5,921. It is an exciting course with an significant number of doglegs, bunkers and water. The back nine is set among giant oaks and gently flowing creeks.

A disappointing experience
We were hoping for a nice design, an interesting layout and decent greens. The greens unfortunately were in a very bad condition. We literally putted on some dirt on a lot of holes. The round was cheap, so it ended up being not as frustrating as if we had to pay a full price for it.

Bad Green Conditions
Heard very good things about this course. Wanted to try it out for awhile now. I feel as though I went at a bad time. Courses around the area have pretty bad green conditions, just as this course did today. No grass in some spots, won’t be able to get a straight roll . If you want to have a good time with the boys and call 3 to 5 foot puts good, then it doesn’t really matter. Overall not a bad course. Great staff. Would recommend this course in a month of two, hopefully the greens will get better. I will play this course again.

Surprised by Course Conditions
My wife and I always try to play Indigo Creek when visiting the area. We were very surprised by the green and fairway conditions on our recent round. I trust these problems are being addressed.

Greens were in horrible shape. Luckily we got a good deal to play or we would have been really unhappy.

Too Many Other Options
I was disappointed in the condition of the course. The price is on target with the value. The "Pro Shop" was not stocked and the entry to it was cluttered. There are too many other good courses in the Myrtle Beach area to try to save $20 to play this course. Needs significant work on greens. I will say that the staff was accommodating. Not their fault that I won't come back.

Nice course. Greens need ALOT of work
Staff was great; pace play good; fairways good Greens were terrible. Some had no grass. There was no real putting. For sure hurt my score. Too bad, otherwise a good course

Terrible greens!!!!
Greens were in really bad shape! Most of the greens were just smooth dirt that have been painted to look like grass. Otherwise I enjoyed playing the course. Lots of water in play. Staff was really friendly!!!

Nice course, but not one of the best on The Grand Strand
Good people, nice layout, moderately challenging (lots of water, but open fairways). Greens were off for some reason, and even the fairways weren't as nice as always. Love the five tee boxes. Slower than it should have been. Still, great course for the money!

Good Value, Course in Rough Shape
The Indigo golf course is a nice layout, however it is in need of some significant maintenance. The greens in particular are very rough, to the point that the ball may or may not roll true. Part of the problem appears to be an intrusion of a coarse grass. The bunkers are not maintained at all.

Horrible Greens
I played this course last summer and the greens were bad but it has been 9 months so I thought I would give it another try. I will not play it again until I see reviews that the greens are fixed some are ok but others are just down right awful you never know which way your ball will bounce while making a putt. I like the layout fairways were nice but until the greens are repaired I wont be playing it anytime soon

Like the course layout. Greens are in need of some major work. Many are patchy grass and sand. There are better places to play in MB.

HORRIBLE GREENS!!!!
While we’re anxious to play at the beach, this course is an absolute disappointment! The boxes and fairways aren’t the best, you can still have a chance to get home. Though the greens are the worst. There is NO chance of getting a good read, since it basically dirt...you’d have better luck putting on the cart path. Loaded it up after 9 and called it day.
