This short hole requires precise landing (lots of loft!), with the green having cliffs on 3 sides! Photo submitted by joelhulen on 05/31/2014

No show fee + Bad Service
I have came here many times but recently I was charged a “no show” fee for my round despite showing up and playing my round. Called the course and received no help, all blaming GolfNow. Well, this has never happened at the other courses I’ve booked through GolfNow. Golf carts on back 9 only due to “covid” despite every other golf course having carts for all 18... makes no sense.
Meh its was okay.
I wish there was a designated place to line up system by the first hole. We stood next to the first hole wait for two groups before our start time. Then out of no where the staff told us to skip the 8 holes and go straight to the 9th hole simply because the other golfers took too long. Preferably If I drove an hour and half for 70 miles I would like to play all 18 holes and not 9.
Scenic Course
Great views at this course. The course itself provides a good challenge, may be overwhelming for new players. The walk in the first half is long, but it's a good exercise. Had a great time.
Unique design
I enjoy the dynamics of the course design. It has short par 4s, sone short par 3s with elevation drops and lots of topography. Always fun to play Scholl canyon
Good Approach to Cart Rentals
Due to COVID, they are only providing cart rentals for the back 9. I paid $10 to do so. The back 9 is much hillier than the front 9, and it's very easy to walk the front 9. So I think they have made a very wise choice on how to handle the cart rentals.
Nice and Challenging for a Return to the Game
First time playing after sitting out for over a year and first time playing this course. While some Holes were standard Par 3’s, Scholl does offer a good amount of challenging Par 4’s making for a nice round after being rusty. Golfers could be better and not leaving their trash all over the tee boxes but overall I enjoyed it.
Great time and great views. Golf cart available for holes 10-18
I had a great time, walked the whole course. Cart is helpful for back 9 as you have to go up a semi steep hill. Ok if you are young or in shape, but helpful if you are not. You can see LA skyline in distance on several holes.
Advice is to bring a bright color ball (not white) for holes around driving range, if you are not hitting the green, your white ball will get mixed in with range balls that are on fairways of holes 6-9.
Overall will recommend. I had a great time!!!!
Great course for practicing your midgame
As others have said, this is a great executive course for practicing your mid game. Greens are well-maintained (and purposely tricky). Fairways are a little rougher. Rough is very rough. The course is worth playing for the back 9 alone, which use the full potential of the canyon to create challenging hazards and hole layouts. Staff is friendly and helpful. Pace of play is about typical for LA public courses. I’ll definitely be playing here again!
Back 9 cart use
I didn’t understand why we were only allowed to use the carts on the back 9? If it was for sanitary reasons it wouldn’t make sense but that’s basically all I would say, everything else was good and nice.
Fun day
Great for a quick 18. Other courses are a challenge for being narrow or long, this one is all about mid and short game. Chipping, ball control and positioning, and wavy greens. Fairways and rough are roughhhhh. But greens are pretty well tended to. It’s a fun day out. Well priced. 830 am Sunday for 35 per person!
How is this 4 stars
Look, it's a good facility for the community. And I'm happy to play courses like this to support them. But it's not 4 stars. It's really just a par three course, with 4 or five of the par threes just throw ins because they are under 100 yards. The greens are excellent, but everything around them is burned out grass. If you want to practice your half wedges it's a good place to go.
