Re: Scholl

This course use to be an easy, and fast place to get in executive course. Having played here in the past I was expecting a fast pace of play. It definitely didn't deliver that. It took us over 4 hours for 18 holes, and the greens were in horrible conditions. I've never seen them that bad. Literally 2 feet of grass in front of the 11th hole. Hitting out of it was no fun. I don't know who their greenskeeper is, but I'd definitely chew him out.

Fun and Challenging

My wife and I played this course for the 1st time. It is a great course to work on the short game, and there are still 4 holes where you need your driver. There are beautiful views of the area. There are multiple changes in elevation, which are a fun and unusual twist. The fairways and greens are well maintained. The driving range is nice. The staff is friendly and helpful. We highly recommend this course.

Scholl Canyon

For a novice golfer this will be a challenging course. Many of the greens are so sloped that if you are a bit too strong on your put it will roll completely off the green. Same with some fairways on the back nine. Most of the greens are full of unrepaired ball marks. For the money ($21 for 18 holes with a cart) it's not a bad deal. Beautiful scenery. Walking (especially the back 9) would be challenging for most people due to the uphill slopes betw

Scholl Canyon

Very nice course. Six par 4 and 12 par 3 holes. Very hilly in spots, so riding is recommended. Fairways are narrow, and on some holes sloped so much that a good shot can roll out of bounds. Next time I will plan my shots with that in mind. Greens, though often small and sloped, are well maintained. I will definitely go back. Pace of play can be very slow at times, especially when pared with beginners.

This course took me to Scholl.

Scholl is a nice little course with many of the holes back to back. It’s a very friendly course and good for the money. It was a Fall morning on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. About 11a, and the course wasn’t that busy. The driving range however was. Challenging for novices and beginners. The course is not long although it does have some holes that are 250+. The back 9 is in the mountain side. It has a few holes that are tough to see and a few that you need to clear valleys.

The staff is friendly and there to answer questions.

One of the Better public courses

Friendly staff, beautiful scenery the long short arrangement of the holes is challenging and the back 9 is a doozieWith high cliff side views super unforgiving ravines if you want to challenge and you can hit the ball straight this is a course fun for everyone.

First time playing Scholl Canyon

This is my first time playing at Scholl Canyon and I had a great time. We were at usum playing at 6:45 in the morning for the first time on a very cool morning and it could not have been better. Help on getting there immediately we were greeted and treated very well by the staff. The gentleman that checked in our reservation explained pretty much everything about the course that we needed to know and that was extremely awesome. The course is short and is nestled around the hilltops of Glendale which give you an amazing view when you are at the higher points of the course. Considering it is rather a short course and somewhat hilly, show Canyon opposes what I like to call a friendly challenge on your golf game. I would recommend this course to anyone that has never played it and you can decide what you like about it. The only thing I can say that I disliked about show Canyon doesn't even pertain to the golf course itself it's the fact that our tee time was scheduled at a set minute and players manage to jump in line in front of us setting us back. The only other thing I did not like is the fact that people will on occasion pick up your golf ball.

Short

Overall this is a decent course. The conditions are average with most of the greens in good condition at this time of year. A MAIN COMPLAINT IS HALF THE TEE BOXES ARE UNEVEN. So many tee shots are hit with your feet below the ball. The course also is extremely short with a few Par 4s which are average 250 yards mixed in with a majority of Par 3s. This course could honestly be played with only wedges.

Otherwise, there are some amazing views from the elevation of the mountains.

Good course but needs to invest in some cleanup

The course layout is good and fun to play. The big negative for me is the large number of range balls that litter the fairways on holes 1, 2, 3 and especially 9. If you hit into the fairway on 9 it could be a while before you find your call among all the range balls that litter that fairway.

Best part of this course is its location. Easy to get to yet far enough from the hustle and bustle of the city. All aspects of the course are in good condition: tee boxes, fairways and greens. I can’t rate the bunkers because it just rained. The facilities are nice and the staff is helpful and friendly. This is a good mid-length course value.

Cold and Windy but still fun!

Scholl Canyon is always a good bet for a quick, fun round. On President's day 2018, I was able to get in 18 in just under 2 hours. Unfortunately, lost a ball on #13 with a poor tee shot. Greens are in decent condition though there are a few too many non-repaired ball marks. Looking to play here again the next time i'm in town.
