CrossCreek Golf Club
About
Situated amidst the beauty of the Temecula Valley, CrossCreek Golf Club enjoys a peacefully secluded setting enclosed by groves of mature oak and sycamore trees. Arthur Hills designed the course, using the rolling hills to incorporate tricky blind shots to elevated greens. His design is a true test of target golf. There is plenty of variety throughout the golf course with some holes that are framed by towering treetops and other holes that are wide-open, subjecting them to the prevailing winds. You won't find too many greenside bunkers but there are many fairways bunkers. Be prepared to use every club in your bag on this golf course. One of CrossCreek Golf Club's most memorable holes is the par-3 17th, which is carved into a rocky hillside. The green is similar to that of the notorious 12th hole at Augusta National, featuring a bushy creek protecting the front.

Enjoyable coarse
The coarse is challenging and well laid out. Fairways and greens well manicured.
Favorite course to play
Relatively cheap for the conditions which are fantastic. You’ll lose a lot of balls because there are a lot of OB areas but great course to play. Also let your wife know before you come here that there is 0 cell phone service anywhere.
Challenging
Grear design. Perfectly placed hazards.Fairwas ok for the price but spotty.
The tees are poor condition. Uneven footing. Greens and bunkers are great.
We will return.
Stunning scenery, very demanding course in a great way
First time playing here. I prepared many types of shots beforehand and used every club in my bag at this course. It helped using a conservative approach from the black tees as a longer hitter – steady, consistent, 75%-80% energy on tees, and focused on more controlled hits, shot placement. Every shot counts here, so I wouldn’t ease up on trying your best each swing. Read about this course’s difficulty level and challenging holes beforehand, which I’m pleased to say was accurate and I enjoyed every minute of it. My score was lower than anticipated by not using an aggressive swing here. Paired with a very good, knowledgeable 2-some. Pace of play was relaxed and efficient.
Course is nestled within the De Luz Canyon and next to a vineyard. Beautiful views on most holes for photographs. Pretty landscape – mixed between ranch-side trees/terrain, stream networks, towering mountains with houses on their peaks, oak trees and shrub clusters, rock formations, an orderly vineyard, and an array of green colors from this course. Great piece of land and technical course design.
Recommend for middle to low handicap players. Need to keep all tee shots straight and/or fully controlled here. Great place to test your shot placement while admiring the stunning scenery. Greens were slightly slower early on, then sped up later on in the round. Fairways looked great, consistent and well maintained. Water hazards will filled up, looked great (deep blue colors). Tee boxes looked fine and well organized. Practice range personnel and other staff were great. Practice/chipping green and practice range were both very good and quiet. Water barrels filled with cold water and cups on course. Some extras were given to me before the round (very friendly) and great communication with staff (pointers for several holes for smart golf, few features to be careful about – snakes and poison oak). No negative encounters within my round. No cell phone reception here, no background sounds, just perfectly quiet relaxing golf. Very few Cons here – ball washers needed to be filled with more cleaner (slightly low to dry), reports of sand traps being too hard, shallow layer of sand (need to add few layers of sand to each trap). I only hit one sand trap this round – confirming it’s hardness. This course is a new favorite (excellent course design, staff, vineyard, mountains in background and local surrounding terrain), well worth the drive (70 mi one way), and is the most demanding/challenging (in a great way) course I ever played. Will be back again. Thanks to all involved at CrossCreek.
Last Minute Round
We decided to play last minute. We saw the open time on golfnow. Upon arrival we could see that it was quiet. The shop attendant was not in the shop, and there was no cart staff available when we checked in so we had to wait a bit. The assistant rolled through the check in process quickly, with no added information, and we walked out. Once checked in we grabbed our cart off the line, which was a bit dirty, but I get it, and went out to play. The course was in wonderful shape considering the heat over the past week. A pleasant surprise. We rolled through 6 holes in about 40 minutes and then ran into two gentlemen that were walking. I would guess they were fairly new to the game. They failed to fix divots, walked across greens with their pull carts, and spent time searching for balls that weren’t theirs. They could have allowed us through, but we sat behind them for about 5 holes before they separated and we then got stuck behind a walking single. Other than that, it was an enjoyable day and my pops and I will definitely go back.
Hidden gem
Awesome course! Conditions were fantastic. Greens pure. Challenging but rewarding. Hidden gem. And love the scenery, get there early to beat the heat. Will definitely be back, worth the long distance.
Love at first sight
Amazing design, rewarding but challenging. Not a bad view on the course! I will be playing this course regularly!
