CrossCreek Golf Club

About
Situated amidst the beauty of the Temecula Valley, CrossCreek Golf Club enjoys a peacefully secluded setting enclosed by groves of mature oak and sycamore trees. Arthur Hills designed the course, using the rolling hills to incorporate tricky blind shots to elevated greens. His design is a true test of target golf. There is plenty of variety throughout the golf course with some holes that are framed by towering treetops and other holes that are wide-open, subjecting them to the prevailing winds. You won't find too many greenside bunkers but there are many fairways bunkers. Be prepared to use every club in your bag on this golf course. One of CrossCreek Golf Club's most memorable holes is the par-3 17th, which is carved into a rocky hillside. The green is similar to that of the notorious 12th hole at Augusta National, featuring a bushy creek protecting the front.

Hole #1 Photo submitted by joeskiluv31 on 12/30/2012
CrossCreek is a great value
Course is challenging, especially the back nine. Back tees are almost 7,000 yards, with many challenging tee shots. Blues are 6300, with plenty of meat. Whites are a little less than 6,000, but when it's windy it's tough. Greens were a little soft, but rolled very well. Bunkers could use a bit of sand in places (unless hardpan is what they are going for). Overall fun track.
Fun Track, but Pricey for Lack of Amenities
Layout and course conditions are great. Trees on 2nd shot on hole12 could be trimmed. You should be able to see the green from the fairway. The kitchen was closed the day we played and restaurant is still under renovation. Pace of play was awful at 5 1/2 hours.
Dedicated to Improvement
The only reason I did not rate off-course amenities higher is because their food/beverage area is under reconstruction. Based on improvements in other areas, I’m guessing that will also be a a significant upgrade. Staff members were all outstanding. Congrats to owner/manager commitment to excellence.
Great Day
Excellent course , great condition, front 9 easier than the back. Good pace of play. Not crowded at all. Grass practice range, bonus. Beautiful scenery. Will play there again.
Love this course
The staff here is so amazing! So inviting and friendly and of the course is in amazing shape. I don't know how anyone could play here and have a bad day or leave a bad review. Shelby under the tent outside is always our favorite! The younger girl who drives the cart (sorry I don't remember her name) checks in multiple times out on the course which doesn't happen many other places. We were able to speak with the greens keeper briefly as well while he was out checking on the greens. First time I've ever actually seen a greens keeper out during play. He was also super cool and has a passion for golf and maintaining an amazing course. Absolutely our favorite course to play thanks to the staff and beautiful ambiance!
Insane pace of play
You should manage tee times and the pace of play. Total play time was almost 6 hours to complete the course, everyone was waiting crazy amount of time. So exhausted, cannot play this course anymore.
Great course, but…
First of all, the course is amazing! The layout, the conditions, everything about the course was awesome.
Here comes the other part.
While I was checking in, the gentleman I working in the pro shop told me to play from the front tees. I had not asked him for advice, nor did he offer any to my husband. I asked him why, and he said that’s where the ladies should play. Hmmm. True, I am female. But this man does not know me or my golf skills at all. I happen to have a single-digit index, and playing 4800 yards from the front tees is not appropriate for me. I ended up playing from the golds and had a great round!
Additionally, the starter had specific information for females. He made sure to tell me where the restrooms for the ladies were located around the course. I asked why he didn’t tell my husband where the bathrooms were, and he replied with a wink and a joke.
Hey, I get it. Lots of men don’t mind peeing in the bushes. Lots of women should hit from the front tees. However, those are sexist assumptions that are not welcome or appropriate to share with your guests. Please give your guests advice (if they ask for it) and information that is necessary for all the golfers, and leave out the unwelcome gender bias.
Bunkers had just enough sand
4:50 hour round, not bad considering the difficulty. Fairways and greens in good shape.
Great course!
Very nice mountain course that rest along side many vineyards. Lots of obstacles and traps, greens have no flat lie. We will visit again.
An Isolated Gem
Had a 220pm tee time on Memorial Day. Getting to the course is an adventure as there is no cell reception at the course and there is a stretch of about 1/2 mile that is all dirt road which adds to the mystique of the course.
The clubhouse is undergoing renovations at the moment so it is mainly trailers and porta potties at the moment but has a great driving range and putting green. The staff is awesome and provides a yardage book with your scorecard in addition to the GPS on the cart.
It's a naturally beautiful course that crosses creeks (see the course name) and meanders through forests, vineyards, lakes, and hilly nature. With all of that comes notable elevation changes, natural obstacles, and changing wind directions: so best bring your a-game if you want to play halfway decent here.
Although it is out of the way for some people, it is Definitely worth the trip and coming back.
Nice course / Decent value
In So Cal on vacation and found this course to be very nice yet moderately challenging. Fairways were a little soft so you won’t get much roll but they were well maintained. Greens were excellent, fast and true but held approach shots nicely. I was fortunate enough to play with a threesome who plays this course regularly. Local knowledge is very helpful.
One of the Best
It is an absolutely gorgeous course and I am looking forward to playing there again.
