Really nice layout. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. Only critique is a lot of ongoing maintenance and machinery noises while we were playing. But that tells you they take care of the course!

During my last round on 8-19-2024 Monday 8:30am tee time.I was very disappointed with the way the starter handled my request to move up my tee time. The course was wide open, with very few players ahead of me, so I asked if I could move my tee time up( just 20 minutes ahead of my tee time), something I've done many times in the past when the course isn't busy. But this time, both the starter and the pro shop staff member claimed that because my tee time was booked as a 'Hot Deal' on GolfNow, it couldn’t be moved. Their attitude was dismissive, and they offered no flexibility, which was surprising given my history of playing here.In all the years I've played here, the staff has always been flexible and willing to move up my tee time when the course was quiet, regardless of how I booked. This new, rigid stance felt unfair and out of line with the excellent service I've come to expect from this course. I left the course at 8:10am( didn’t play). It's unfortunate when loyal customers are treated with such inflexibility, especially when the course is not busy.

I was fortunate enough to get an early tee time for just myself. I was paired with another single but they allowed us to each have our own cart. We were able to complete the round in 3:15. The course had been aerated earlier in the week so expected it to be in worse condition but it was actually in pretty good condition. The greens were a bit sandy making it hard to read and determine the proper speed. However, these greens were. still in better shape than some other courses I've played. It is really a beautiful course!

Unbelievable resort course. Great from tee to green.

I play this course a few times/year, so I know what to expect when it comes to their high green fees- there are many other courses in San Antonio that are a better value. This time around, however, was particularly disappointing.

The greens were uncharacteristically slow and the tee boxes were in terrible shape. The bunkers were also inconsistent. For a course seeking $150-$200 for greens fees, even in the afternoons, that is sub par.

Given the current conditions, $60-$70 would be more appropriate.

That said, you can always rely on good service, nice carts, generally good pace of play, and a fun layout at this course.

If you have never played here before, you should, but look for a rate below $150. There are too many other great courses in the area that don’t charge nearly this much- this is a $100 green fee max in my mind, unless the course is in perfect condition, which it is not.

The ground crew followed us the entire back nine with the giant blowers on. We couldn’t even hear each other talking. Plus they blew grass on or towards us for two hours.

While San Antonio struggles with keeping their courses hydrated between May and October, La Cantera has it figured out. Tee boxes, fairways, bunkers, and greens are all in phenomenal shape for already being near 100°. I will be back routinely.
