Amazing Course with amazing staff!

Best course ever been on, very challenging elevated greens for approaches and amazing scenery for a perfect round. Staff was also great, our 9am ambassador and the whole staff was a pleasure to talk to and start off our morning with good tips and stories. I’ll definitely be back soon!

Over grown greens.

This review is directed more towards the greens. I don't know if it's just a seasonal thing for this course. The greens were in terrible shape. Very over grown. Ball would just skipp bounce and stop. Every green was exactly the same. It really put a damper on the hole round. Everything but the greens where in great shape. From the T box to the fairways. Once you got to the green it was over. I played JW palms and Silverrock during my stay and I did not have a issue with those greens. So it makes me question if it's a seasonal thing or just poor maintenance in the summer. Being called home of the PGA I was pretty disappointed. I would love to give this course another go once the greens are fixed. It wasn't bad course or layout. But when putting is a big part of the game it really makes it tuff.

The most beautiful spot in the desert.

This course has been my favorite since the first time I played it 30 years ago. It is truly a slice of heaven. The staff was extremely friendly and very welcoming. The course was in pretty good shape considering it's August in the middle of a desert. Greens were a little slow and there are some bare spots in fairway, but that's to be expected in the desert with 110° temps. The views are breathtaking, and neverending. Do yourself a favor go to La Quinta and play this course.

Pretty course. Terrible greens

The greens were almost unplayable. They were bumpy and slow obviously the summer has been hard to maintain them. The collars and surrounds were bumpy and uneven with lots os weeds. Deep soft muddy spots in fairways. It’s clearly a nicely designed course, Staff was friendly but the beverage cart was available on the front nine then we were told she had been sent home. Ultimately a disappointing round

One of my favorites

Always one of my favorites. Service is top notch. Arrived and before we took our bags out of the car, an attendant came to get our clubs. With so few people on the course that day, I loved the attention to service.

Good service in pro shop, friendly and attentive. Range was great, perfect lies and easy marked targets.

Starter was friendly, told us to come over when ready, no rush, no pressure. Easy to do in 108 degree heat and few people on the course but either way, friendly and welcoming.

Course is outstanding. One of my favorite layouts. Greens on a couple holes were struggling to come back in the heat after being done. Didn't take from the experience though, course was in great condition.

Pace of play was outstanding, it was hot but singles played through. A twosome allowed out twosome to play through, everyone was out to keep things moving and enjoy the day.

Visiting from the UK

My son and I played the Mountain course for the first time and found it challenging but really enjoyable. It’s called the Mountain course for a reason !! And requires accurate shots off the tee and fairway. The course also offers spectacular views of the surrounding area. Would definitely play here again.

Course in rough shape

Tee boxes were really beat up throughout the course. Green's, especially on the front 9, were struggling. Fairways we're inconsistent, dry and muddy wet spots throughout. Summer heat probably partly to blame, but other courses in the area in better condition than here. I would avoid this track and see if conditions get better in the late fall.

Hot and Wet conditions

The weather is starting to get hot in the desert and the course was dumping a lot a water on the course. The fairways were so wet my drives were either plugging or not rolling very far. The greens on the front nine were bad with dry and had many barren spots. The back nine greens were a little better but still in need of some attention. The only highlight for the round is that I was able to finish in 2.5 hours.

Great layout but really poor condition.

A very disappointing round of golf. After viewing the beautiful photos of the course on the La Quinta website, it was clear by the time we got to the first green that the course was in disrepair. Unfortunately one of the worst courses I have played in the Palm Springs area. Every hole had major ground under repair areas and some greens were extremely patchy and unplayable. See photo of the fairway lie below.

Bad Greens

This course is very difficult for the average golfer for the first time. The greens are very hard and your ball will run off it when you get a great shot.

Also the green on most holes are in bad shape.

They told me they may shout down for July to fix the problem.. After they fix it it will be a great place to play.. super nice people there.
