PGA WEST Pete Dye Mountain Course

Although my score was disappointing, the same cannot be said regarding the amazing views throughout this golf course. My wife and I have been visiting this course for the past dozen years just admiring the views from the clubhouse. We are usually here in February and the course is typically out of my price range but this year we are here in October and the opportunity presented itself. The clubhouse and restaurant was closed for renovations..This course although difficult for a hacker like myself provides a memorable experience. Expertly manicured with unbelievable. The expert staff are all very friendly and there to ensure you enjoy your round. Oh .. and the 16th T is unforgettable!

The course remains impressive and is always a great pleasure to play. However with the imminent overseeding, the greens were as good as they should be. Another points concerns the flooding reserve in impressive concrete between the 14th and the 15th fairways, which spoils the scenery of both impressive hole. Why not filling the reserve with bushes to hide the ugly concrete and bring back the original scenery of the holes.

disappointed that there were no working restrooms on bac k 9 which meant we had to curtail our round after 14 holes so overall very disappointed as we were not advised of the problem before the start of the round. The pace of play was very slow and when we drove in from the 14th to the clubhouse we realised why, a group a few in front of us had nobody in front of them and they held up the remaining groups in the field, did not see any marshalls on the course but not sure they care once they get the money.

We love this course. The layout is breathtaking - especially from the tips. Unfortunately, playing the course in the month of October is not ideal. Like every other course in the area, they were prepping for overseeding. As such, the greens were extremely slow and rough. Staff was wonderful.

Since it’s October, we knew the course would not be in great shape. The layout is good and views Are still magnificent. There was an event at the course so none of the practice facilities were open Or the restaurant.

Not sure I’d say that this was worth the fees we paid.

Starter must be a family member otherwise he wouldn’t get a job at any other course.

Total jerk , needs to take a course on social skills!!

Greens looked like they hadn’t been cut for a week, slowest I’ve ever played on.

Not worth $150 , should definitely have a reduced rate for the shape it’s in.

I have always loved playing the PGA Courses at LaQuinta. I have been lucky to play most of the courses. I have played the Mountain course before, last time probably 10 years ago…. I remember it being a challenge and a beautiful course to play. It was a challenge again, and beautiful but not scenic because of the Haboob that left dust and dirt everywhere. My only complaint was the greens were not in the best shape, They didn’t roll well, as the ball basically bounced to the hole. Hopefully, that will be corrected soon…

Course is a fun and interesting one with fantastic views. Conditions were pretty good considering was end of summer. Greens however were very slow and bit sandy. Pace was great, we finished in 3:50.

We come out to Palm Springs once a year to golf. We played this course in June 2021 and the greens rolled fast and it was in wonderful condition. Yesterday, Oct. 4, 2022, we played it again. Still one of the most beautiful courses you'll play, but it's going into the over-seeding process soon, so the greens were slow and the ball DID NOT roll true...we had way more 3-putts than usual. Everything else about the course was still in wonderful condition.

Love this course. It is very tough and the scoring is totally different than easier courses. The scenery is spectacular and the sense of peace and beauty is abundant, especially the back 9.

Played only the back nine of the Mountain course because they were doing maintenance on the front. Fairways and greens were shaggy overall Would not recommend in the current state but I’m sure it will improve. Staff was friendly and helpful. Food was great in the bar.

Have played numerous Pete Dye courses throughout the nation - this course desperately needs revamping - extended tees, etc. GREENS WERE HORRIBLE!!! Numerous dead spots, others were so thick you couldn't make a normal putt - you had to hammer it to get it to the hole. Back nine was a bit better, but still very sketchy. No water until late on the back nine. Never play here again! They should pay me $75 to play there.

Best course ever been on, very challenging elevated greens for approaches and amazing scenery for a perfect round. Staff was also great, our 9am ambassador and the whole staff was a pleasure to talk to and start off our morning with good tips and stories. I’ll definitely be back soon!
