Originally Rio Del Mar Country Club, Seascape Golf Club is a classic 18-hole layout perched on the coast highlands of the Monterey Peninsula. Opened in 1926, the course was actually shut down during World War II when it served as a “victory garden” to help grow crops for the nation's war effort. After the war it came back with its new name, but old charm. The golf course is just a half mile from the Pacific Ocean, but it's largely protected by Monterey pines and eucalyptus trees that surround it. Seascape Golf Club features well maintained fairways, strategically placed bunkers and small, tricky greens.

Very playable

Stay below the hole!!! This course would be very easy if it weren't for the steeply sloped greens. Stay below the hole and you will have a great round! 14 - 17 are tough, but one can make up strokes on the very easy par fives even from the back tees.

Short course, very difficult greens.

I was told to practice putting prior to playing the course for the first time. It was impossible for the practice green to prepare you for what was in store for you on the course. Needless to say, I three putted several greens that normally I would not, which means the course played 5-6 strokes harder than I was prepared for. The weather was great, the staff were extremely friendly, and the course was in excellent shape. If you play, bring a level and a slide rule in order to read the greens! One more tip: don't be above the hole when you have to putt! Enjoy an excellent track!

The course is well maintained and the holes are quite challenging for a high-handicap golfer.

Always like playing here as a family and with friends. It is a course people with different handicaps can find challenging and enjoyable

Very few flat spots

The course is in good shape but there are very few flat spots on the course. Don't be fooled by the 9th and 18th holes that are right in front of the clubhouse. It seemed that I was constantly hitting the ball below or above my feet. The greens are in good shape and most run from back to front with more break then it looks to the eye. You want to keep the ball below the pin on all holes. The one hole I found unreasonable was the first par three. This hole is 200+ yards into the wind and if you don't make it to the green then there is a good chance your ball will feed back down the front side at least 50 yards. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Seascape is a beautiful layout near the ocean.

The greens are in fine condition and the fairways are very good. When the sun is out this is a beautiful golf course with a lot of hilly lies. It is fairly narrow in its layout with many mature trees lining the fairways. It is short in length but the sea air makes it seem longer. I recommend it wholeheartedly.

play elsewhere

The course itself is ok. But the pace of play was ridiculous. They need to work on pushing people along alot more.

fairways and greens in great shape.

Seascape is an interesting course with a friendly staff. Thursday was more crowded than usual and we did have wait on par three s but back 9 never had a wait. I wish there were more course marshalls as when holes back up there is no one around to move people along.

Great bang for your buck!

Afternoon tee time for $48 with these surroundings? Yes, please! Challenging greens, but the course is relatively less challenging in comparison.

Course was in great shape.

Overall the course was in fantastic shape. The pace of play was tremendous. The only gripe would be the pin placements. A fair amount of the pins were placed within three paces of a significant slope. It made it hard to hold your approach shots.

Great course

Course was in great condition. Not too crowded. Grass on hills was cut low allowing greater visibility. A lot of green & for the money I wouldn't want to play anywhere else.

Fun course, can play quickly if you play early.

Pleasant course, I enjoy playing there. Greens can get beat up but are nice this time of year (May).

Beautiful setting and in great shape

Seascape is a great track in a beautiful setting. The greens are really running true and many are challenging with multiple tiers. While this is not a long course, you do need to think your way around the course. You can score well but there are also some holes that can get you if you're not paying attention.

Good Course, challenging greens, a good walk, with ocean views and breezes

Seascape is a shorter course +- 6000 yds from tips, but has challenging elevation changes and lies, and excellent greens that will keep you interested.
Properly penal areas if you miss fairways, and some nicely guarded greens will grab your attention. Particularly like the "amen corner" of 13-15 where you have a tricky par-5, uphill par 3 and a 3-tiered short par-4 to contend with.
One of those courses that appear benign and ready for you to go low. Let me know when you par it!
Good fun and value.

Great time

Course was in good shape. Pace was a bit slow due to a tournament with shotgun start that started an hour before my tee time. This should have been noted on my reservation, like aeration is noted. Driving range is limited to irons only.

All in all, great time, good conditions. Definitely will come back.

this course is one of the most fun places to play

I have played this course many times over the years and i have never gotten tired of playing here. The environment, the layout and level of challenge is just a really enjoyable mix. The course condition this date 4/27 was good overall. the greens as always are one of the challenges, on the speedy side w/ plenty of break. I brought a friend who played for the first time at this course and also agreed "one of the funnest places to play". It was a great deal as we got 25% off including cart and replayed for $15 !

Fun Course

This is a fun course for the average golfer. Very friendly staff. Course is in very good shape. Well maintained. Nice views from the clubhouse and some holes. Overall, pace of play was fine until we came upon an older couple on the back nine but that can happen anywhere.
