Seascape Golf Club
About
Originally Rio Del Mar Country Club, Seascape Golf Club is a classic 18-hole layout perched on the coast highlands of the Monterey Peninsula. Opened in 1926, the course was actually shut down during World War II when it served as a “victory garden” to help grow crops for the nation's war effort. After the war it came back with its new name, but old charm. The golf course is just a half mile from the Pacific Ocean, but it's largely protected by Monterey pines and eucalyptus trees that surround it. Seascape Golf Club features well maintained fairways, strategically placed bunkers and small, tricky greens.

Golf with my lovely Bride! Photo submitted by u849946994 on 03/22/2017
Best course for the price in this area.
Conditions were good for having aerated recently. The pace of
play was a little slow on the Friday that I played.
It would be nice to have better practice facility.
Nice clubhouse, comfortable and friendly.
ok, but enjoyed other area courses better
Arrived late to course due to tight scheduling. GolfNow confirmed our tee time at 1:48, but proshop had us at 1:40 so we rolled onto the course without a swing or a putt. The time discrepancy wasn't a big deal in our case, but heads up -- you might want to confirm with course after booking. Course was okay, lots of ups and downs. Greens in okay shape, but not fast. Fairways a bit rough. Didn't 'fit my eye' as they say -- I wouldn't come back.
Great weather, greens rough from being punched
Started at 2:00 pm could not finish because of slow play. Left after 16 time 6:30 pm. Great price $32
Great staff and value.
Very friendly staff and great value. Course was in good condition for this time of year. Lots of well placed bunkers that I seemed to find on almost every hole. Staying below the hole is a must .First time playing the course but will definitely play again.
Great fun course.
Challenging, well kept course. Fun to play in that you are rewarded for good shots, and there is plenty of challenge with most every hole.
has a great layout
My only complaint about this course is the greens were under repair. If you hit the opposite side from the flag the greens were recently airrated and covered in sand. Other than that great day.
Good looking course, nicely laid out.
Some long par 4s and 3s. Challenging without resorting to gimmicks. I'll be back.
Well kept, scenic and reasonably priced.
Beautiful course, but couldn't drive carts off path even though fairways were dry. Difficult pin placement for amateurs and disruptive groundskeepers were other negatives.
Seascape is a fun and challenging course.
Seascape is a fun and challenging course while not being a long course. There are many tight fairways and small, undulating greens. The course is in good shape. Several large trees have been lost and the staff is removing those. I happened to play on a day when the weather was clear and mild making the views on the course even better. There are home around the course, but they do not impose on the course. Certainly a course to play when in the Santa Cruz area.
The course has everything range, pro shop & resturant!
The cousre isn't long but the greens and layout make for a challenging day on the course.
Always well maintained and fun to play.
We started right on schedule and enjoyed a good round with perfect pace. Not pushed or rushed as a foursome.
greens well maintained
fairway mowed too short for winter golf. need to let fairway grow enough to hit off of
Great course for all golfers!
I play this course often and love it. The greens were in great condition and for a sunday round the pace of play wasn't bad at all. I love that while there are some challenging holes there is also a lot of opportunities to score. A great course for any skill level...
Amazing location and scenery for the price!
Amazing location and scenery for the price!
I have played Seascape many times over the years, and it is one of my favorite courses in the area. Very family friendly; I bring my nephews to the range and practice green and everyone is helpful and inviting. The course offers a challenge for experienced players from the back tees and an enjoyable round for less able players from the front tees. Last but not least is the view from the club house. Sometimes my wife and I just go there for a drink and sunset watching down the 9th fairway.
Great layout. Way too many people playing at their own pace. Ambassador seemed to not intervene at all. Course is very challenging and that is a good.
Overall, solid course with many tough lies and needs to hit great shots. Greens were probably great but by sunday afternoon they were still wet and stomped on so funny breaks all afternoon. May have lost 3 strokes but dont really mind now. If playing in tournament would have been frustrating. Was it over watered or just the very small sprinkle of rain?
above average course for the money
good greens fast but not rediculous fast. definently not resort golf.
This course is very playable and fair.
Our foursome enjoyed team games of Wolf, Skins, and the Worm. We went out early and even though we had two groups play through us, we finished in 5 hours. We'll be back!
Good condition. Challenging greens. Excellent pace of play.
Cart path only was frustrating especially given the firm condition of the course.
66 degrees and sunny. Course was in great condition, and met some wonderful people to play withj.
I really like Seascape. I would strongly recommend that you give it a try.
sunrise 9 holer.
played a birthday back 9 early morning 1/2 round at this course. Course is an excellent course, and difficult enough for me.
Pushcart rentals could use some updating, a bit shabby.
Check in OK, not too inviting or courteous.
