Wekiva Golf Club

The course is absolutely not worth the money. The greens are in horrendous shape with a lot of bare spots in them of no grass whatsoever. You pay a premium price to golf this course and it's just simply not worth it.

I was pleasantly surprised. Hadn't played this course in over 20 years. Would recommend that you give this " Old Gal " a try.

Made tee time thru web site. Tried to cancel three days early was told since it was a hot deal i could not cancel. when we got there there was a sign ‘only 9 holes open’. Would have been nice to know that ahead of time. So our twosome teed off front nine at 7am. Played not overly fast made the turn around 830 and the front nine was all backed up with groups of 4. Fairways and greens rough. Nice layout though.

The greens were in terrible condition. The course was in terrible condition. We didn’t tee off until 4 o’clock. So there was really nobody there. The round was fast which was good. I had a sandwich at the bar before we went out. The bread was stale. The meat was wet. Not a good experience. I have golfed there several times. But not since January. I am in hopes that they are in the process of fixing these issues.

For those that may not know, Wekiva was purchased by Seminole County in December of 2021. For a good while leading up to that sale it was obvious very little TLC was being given to the course. What I can say is this is changing. The county is committed to the course long-term as evidenced by the $1M+ they are starting to put in the course this year - including new cart paths (happening right now), needed soil remediation around the maintenance facility, and tying the clubhouse into city water/sewage.

The very recent conditions are largely due to aggressively killing off unwanted grass types and weeds from the greens and fairways to allow for new growth (again overdue TLC this course is finally getting!). As a current member, I see the staff working their butts off to take this place to a whole new level, but some patience will be required.

Sadly I won’t be playing here for awhile. The course is in such bad condition. Not only did they not mention that they had the front 9 closed and has been closed but the back 9 was is extremely poor condition. The fairways are the worst I’ve ever seen them. Random sand and patchy areas and as well as the greens had bare spots. I’ve played some courses that had only 9 holes available to be played but usually they will discount the games or at least notify you of the course conditions. I genuinely hope they can fix them soon so I can go back. I’ve enjoyed playing there and was very disappointed of the condition of the course.

When arriving we found that front nine was closed. There was no mention on site that this was occurring when I booked the course. Fairways and greens were in rough shape I have never seen this course like this. The bathroom had a code but there was nothing on the card or cart to be able to use. I haven't played there in probably 6 months but it will be a while before I go back definitely not worth what we paid even at a hot deal price. Will not go back until sure it is worked on.

never EVER step foot on this landfill masquerading as a golf course. fairways overtaken with fungus, weeds and patchy grass. fungus all over the greens. staff were rude. front 9 was closed although that wasn’t disclosed on golfnow. which meant the pace of play was a mess. what a complete disappointment.

My lical course. Some really good fairways and greens. Some not so good. New ownership is trying. We are short on rain here. Could use a good all day soaking rain.

I used to enjoy playing this course. The last several times I have played here, conditions were poor. I kept hoping that a change of ownership would help, but it has not helped at all. The greens were average at best, with several having weeds growing in them which prevented a true roll. The fairways were poor, the rough was worse than rough. This isn’t acceptable for the price of nearly $50 a round.

I will not be returning to a course who’s is close, convenient and used to be one of my regular favorites.

Course in good condition, not great. Staff very friendly. Some rough patches on fairways and greens but not that bad. I think the price can be a little lower than $50. I like that they had ice and water available outside by the club house.

Course has potential, but right now its just awful.

Still needs lot of work but better than last time. Good pace of play for the first time ever because had first time out and no 5somes ahead of us.

What a joke!! Black dirt for sand traps, more weeds than grass, no one smiles there, way over priced for what you get. They are taking advantage of their location. Feeding off of the folks that do not want to drive more that 10 min. to play on a real course and praying that they don't get tired of the horrible conditions there. Played last week on Memorial Day and two kids in a cart asked us to move on to the 16th hole because they wanted to close up and go see their friends on Lake Brantley. We had already let 3 singles players through (at 3 different times) and we were playing best ball in teams of 2. Probably the CEO of DTE or the Golf Group of Florida sons. Not sure of the dynamic there but in any case, who ever is calling the shots there should be fired. AND stop paying people to write positive reviews or doing them yourselves!! No Integrity there!! Unbelievable!!!!!!
