About
A solid course design and immaculate course conditions make Wekiva a favored golf destination. Crafted out of a wooded setting, it features many doglegs bordered by large stands of trees and no parallel fairways. Most holes are well bunkered with water coming into play on three holes.
A semi-private club that welcomes outside play, this 18-hole, 6,801 yard par 72 course has mature oaks, pines and palms; equitable undulating fairways; strategic bunkers and gentle mounding that highlights both the fairway and greens.
Wekiva, only 4 miles from I-4's exit 48, is a golf club in the truest sense.

Course needs help
Staff needs to handle assignment of carts more appropriately. I arrived at the desk 15min before our tee time and was asked to check in closer to our tee time to get our cart. We got our carts at our tee time and 2-3 groups with later tee times already had their carts. Next we had to wait about 30min to get started (3 groups ahead of us at #1 tee at our time).
As for the course conditions, both the fairways and the greens were riddled with weeds. Some greens also seemed like they hadn’t been rolled in a long time.
They have added new concrete paths which are nice.
I will not be playing here again anytime soon.
Never Again
My problem with this course is the greed of management. I checked on GolfNow for some last minute tee-times and this course came up with slots every 15 minutes available. I book an afternoon slot and when I arrive at the course for my tee-time I'm notified that all the carts are in use and I can't begin until more come in. By the time we tee off on the first hole we are 4 parties deep in line.
It didn't get any better - We waited a minimum of 5 minutes between every single shot of our round. Every tee box we waited for at least one group in front of us to tee off on every hole. It wasn't that there were slow golfers, it was that the course intentionally overbooks. How in the world could every single tee-time be available for booking when the course was so full they didn't have carts available at our designated tee-time???!!
We teed off before 2PM and were able to finish 13 holes before it was completely dark at 5:50PM. The front 9 alone took close to 3 hours.
All this and the course was in terrible shape. There's no such thing as grass on the fairways or the tee boxes. A matter of fact, the tee boxes looked like sand traps on several holes. My son is a college student who made this comment - "Listen, I'm a college kid who plays trash courses because that's all I can afford, but this is the worst course I've ever played." A broke college kid said this!!!
I will never play here again even if it were free. Again, this is all on management.
Improving
Course is improving. Back nine has rough spots in fairways and greens. Front nine is in better shape. Rough spots on some greens.
Solid count course; on the comeback!
Second time playing this course, and the conditions have improved greatly cents a month ago when the county took over. The greens are in good shape in the bunkers have real sand that you can actually hit from.
Fairways have some dead patches of grass, but you can see all of the issues are being addressed by the county. My only complaint is the tee boxes and the restaurant inside the clubhouse is pretty lacking.
Amazing practice facility, including a full length driving range (grass tees!!) , to putting greens and a great bunker to hit out of
Nice local course.
Needs a little maintainance, but the greens were nice. Its a county owned course, and aparently they are going to spend some money on it, watcg this space. With some work this could be a great course.
Decent county owned course. Hopefully the county will spend some money on overseeding, filling in a few bare spots, and working to keep the greens and bunkers i acceptable condition. The layout is challenging and fun.. Great neighborhood resource.

Good not great
Fairways grass is tight and spotty. Course design is good, but conditions could be better. I'll play again.

Surprisingly quiet
We played 18 in 3 hours. The course is not in the best shape but for a quick round on a Sunday afternoon for $35 per it was great. It's a good practice course as the hole lengths give you the opportunity to use your whole bag.

Course in great shape
Course really improved from a few months ago. Some small bad patches on a few greens but not that bad.
Good value for $50. Water available and staff friendly.
