Located just off the beautiful Gold Coast, the Diplomat Golf and Tennis Club sprawls across a lush terrain covered with thousands of coconut and Royal palms. Towering banyans provide shade throughout the golf course as well. Although it is a public course, it has the look and feel of a private club. It has been a staple of the south Florida community since opening in 1957. The layout features interesting hole designs that incorporate raised greens framed by contoured mounding and more than 75 strategically placed sand bunkers. The water features are hard to miss seeing as they come into play on all but two holes. The golf course is a challenge but not too intimidating for less experienced players. The beautiful scenery alone will be well worth the round.

Terrible conditions
These were some of the worst greens I've ever putted on. Tee boxes were torn up as well. Wouldn't pay more than 30 bucks to play.
This course has great features
Nice challenging course from all tee boxes. Great service from valet parking, free bottled water, free tees, free unlimited practice balls for driving range.
Not worth the money
I payed $125, for a 5 hour round on horrible greens. Also had 3 brand new pro v1 picked up by other players because the holes are so close together.
Grass in the range is not great. $50 is a fair price for this course
Outstanding Course!
Truly a great course, nice folks, and nice cocktails!
A nice and high quality course
High quality club, friendly service, best practice area among most of there clubs. Beautiful course, entertaining to play
great course
Course was great. Course and surroundings were well maintained. Course challenging for all levels of players.
Beautiful Course. Eat first.
I played in a threesome. We pretty much flew through the course, with only one or two brief delays. Very well-maintained. And some very nice challenges. The only caveat is there is no food available in the mornings, because the course restaurant doesn't open until 10 or 11. For a resort, I didn't expect that. We were pretty hungry and a little disappointed that they didn't take care better care of their customers in that regard. I'd definitely play again ... Just make sure you eat first :)
A Classy Place, with a Very Nice Course Attached!!
An absolute pleasure that I look forward to repeating. The experience was a pleasant surprise all around, and nothing but kudos to the entire staff for being very accommodating and warm.
The course is wonderfully maintained, but you could see where the last several holes had a lot of unrepaired ball marks and divots. Because by that point of this slightly surprising course you know you have had to work hard to manage this nice design.
I feel my next round will be played a bit better, but I hope the rest of a return is just as nice as the first trip!
Pristine Conditions, Solid Layout
I would say this a fairly typical resort style course, it's pretty short (6,500 from the tips) and the layout while solid isn't incredible but it's in great condition. Some good holes some meh holes but overall a good experience. The conditions were great, really fast greens ,rough and fairways were also in great shape. In addition there's a ton of iguanas and wildlife on the course. I got this for a free Hot Deal from the GolfNow Rewards and it was normally $100, i would never pay $100 to play this as there's other courses for less than 1/4 of the price maybe not as pristine but solid enough to play 4 rounds for the price of one of these. But if you could find a good deal I would recommend it. You do get all the amenities of a resort with the cart service and free range balls. Tho you also get banged for $7 valet as there's no self park...
Good and beautiful course but too pricey
The layouts are good, the greens are good, but some fairways are ok and it's fun (golf is always fun). The playing pace is surprisingly good on that day. I like the golf cart that comes with ball & club washing in addition to the GPS which most golf courses do not offer those options. Unlimited free range golf balls for before & after the game and a good practice area are a very big plus for playing here. Valet parking only for $7 if you play golf here. Even with all the perks, it's still too pricey to play here.
This course needs to do something about customer service and pace of play!!!
We have played this course a number of times over the past years and after the experience we had last week doubt we will return. The pace of play is generally slow and this time we actually requested a marshall. When we asked the marshall if we could play through the VERY slow foursome ahead (we were also a foursome play 3 different tee's) as they were over a hole behind he told us he "could not deal with it" and then took off. That was on hole 6. At the turn another marshall suggested we jump skip to hole 12...it ended up not working out. Golf can be slow but when a group is not keeping up and others are waiting 5-10 min betweens shots that is unacceptable. How we were treated was also unacceptable!!
Challenging from the back tees water
excellent layout, water in play on many holes, very good facilities
Great practice facility, short game area. Greens run consistent from one hole to next.
Range balls included so you can get there early and warm up. Very nice putting green and practice bunker. Fairways are generous. However, your ball might find one of the lakes if the wind picks up and you hit a "power fade". Greens are in really good shape and are consistent from one hole to next. The greens are not too undulating.
Nice course, but one time is enough.
Course is nicely designed, but could be better maintained.
A year ago, the course conditions had been better.
Considering the relatively high green fees, the course is a nice one time experience but does not offer the value for money as other courses in the region.
Pace of play was very slow; no marshal who took care to speed up the slow flights.
Good course. Decent value.
Course was in good shape and played fast. Green were consistent. Cart service was slow. Played Doral Gold course the next day and like the Diplomat better.
Famous for celebrity golf in 50's and 60's
I am told this course was home to Miami Beach socialites in the 50's/60's- Like Jackie Gleason/ Sammy Davis Jr,/Dean Martin/ Frank Sinatra- Clubhouse/valet parking are very showy. Staff polite and very helpful. Course well maintained w/ fast greens.
2nd to Doral
My 3 favorite courses in South Florida are Doral White, Diplomat, Doral Blue Monster. The staff at the Diplomat is friendlier, it's more intimate, and less touristy (I'm a tourist). I should give it a negative review to keep others from playing it!
Fun layout and great facility...greens could be better
The greens were a little beat up considering the cost of the course...looks like people don't repair their divots or there is just so much play the can't be easily maintained. They still were decent speed. Course was fun and staff was friendly though.
Perfect for intermediate golfers
This course has easy access, welcoming and a very nice track with great practice facilities. Perfect for vacations
Beautiful course and more
The Diplomat is a beautiful course in excellent condition. The Grill is great for lunch with a beautiful view over the course.
