Good starter course

Decent value for the money. Last minute tee times usually available. Course is very repetitive pretty much the same hole over and over. Old school Palm Springs houses line all fairways. Good starter course in the valley. No services on site. They do have a because cart and food can be order and elivered via the cart. No range on site must go across the street to the south course.

Great value

Played this early Sunday morning in April and felt like we owned the course. Greens, fairways in good shape. A good challenge, but wide fairways, hard to lose a golf ball. We paid 40% less the rack rate. Definitely will play again.

Sheltered from the wind on a windy day

A lot of times we chose this course because we don't worry about the breezy conditions that can affect some other courses down the valley. The bonus is that it is a beautiful course with the majestic mountains as a great backdrop!!

Very good course and experience especially for the price.

First time playing either of the Indian Canyons courses. The course was in very good condition, especially if you didn't get off the beaten path. Some of the outlying areas were a little less desirable, but you shouldn't hit it there. The course had A lot of loose debris probably due to the bad wind storm that went through the desert 2 days previous. The fairways and greens are in beautiful shape, although the greens are a little slow for my liking. Overall a good experience, especially for a Palm Springs course still in season. The staff was somewhat interesting to me. They were by all means courteous and professional, but you wouldn't mistake them for a top notch, super custom service oriented group either. They did there jobs and did them well, they just weren't the most warm and friendly group you ever want to meet. This is on a very personal note for me, but I think too many golf courses (high end facilities in particular) underestimate the importance of customer service and exactly what I think that entails. As far as I'm concerned, if you want your facility to not be known for just being a great golf course, but also for being a great customer experience, some additional attention needs to be paid to 4 employees/positions at your facility. 1> The person that greets you in the parking lot and takes your clubs. 2> The person taking your money when you pay for your round. 3> The starter who gives you last minute instructions. Lastly 4> The Cart Girl (person). I'm guessing because those are probably not the best paying positions at the facility, little time, effort, or money is spent on customer service training. The fact of the matter is those 4 positions can make or break what or how people think about your facility (regardless of how great or terrible the golf course is). I've played many of the better golf courses around So Cal and the country for that matter and you can really tell the difference between those facilities that only care about having a great golf course and little else versus those facilities that go the extra mile because they realize they are not the only nice golf course in town so they need to make customer service a priority if they want people to come back. Please don't get me wrong, Indian Canyons North is a nice facility with good people. I just feel like because they are located in a mecca for golf (high end golf in particular), they probably face a lot of competition and may be looking for ways to separate themselves. Doing a few little things that improve the customer experience, just a little bit, could possibly help separate them from at least some of their numerous competitors. Sometimes hiring people who are naturally friendly might be better than hiring people who appear to be more professional. Just a thought... Sorry for being so long winded, but you asked.

Still a Classic

Great course with lots of history. Arguably the best greens in the desert. Speedy, true and nothing is straight! Also, you get to see some of the coolest houses in Palm Springs.

This is an original course of the area. Very few water hazards. Player friendly.

This is one of the original courses in Palm Springs area. Lots of history attached to this course. Very player friendly . Staff were very friendly. Only negative would be no food venue.

indian canyon north

two great courses north & south both had a great staff the north is the older course in need of TLC. it was hard to find drinking water, ball washers, cart girls and sand in the bunkers. great value for the price the course has great potential if they invest the time and money. play this course first then go across the street to the south you'll see and feel the difference.

Very fast paced

Got there an hour early and was sent out immediately so not time to warm up. I felt obligated to go as they seemed to be jumbling a few tee times around. I go early so I can warm up and have a good round. The pace was fast as I was paired with 2 making it a three some and we were asked to make sure we keep up to the group in front. It was a foursome and we barly could. And there was a foursome behind us that were also pushing hard. It took us 3 1/2 hours to play. Way to quick if your looking to enjoy your round and have a good pace. Course layout was great. Greens were awesome. Sand was fluffy and easy to play out of. Scenery was beautiful. Grounds crew were perfect. Staff was friendly. Price through golfnow was $51 for me and $59 each for my twosome I was paired with. Would like to come back and try a four hour round to see how I would score. Overall a great course for the cash.

Good Value

Paying $80 to play the North course in order to pay $50 to the much more scenic South course was worth it.

Nice views, slow pace, minor aggravations

There is extremely limited yardage markers on this course. Constant source of frustration that there are no colored stakes or large stone to indicate 150. I'm not a fan of the barber pole, but with so few sprinkler heads giving yardage you essentially must have a gps. If you don't, you'll be annoyed all round. There is a par 3-4-3 set up on the back 9 which leads to 3 groups deep waiting and slows pace throughout. All day we had to wait for group in front and constantly had group behind waiting or hitting into us.

Wide open off the tee which was nice. Nice views throughout the round. Unlikely I'll play it again though.
