Pure fun!
Course is challenging due to many large bunkers. Strategic play required. Nicely designed!
Well maintained, excellent greens.
Fast play possible in the morning, staff is very friendly.
Great value for money.
great course
sand traps all over well maintained very challenging
Enjoy the sand
Our foresome consisted of 2 , 18hdcp (one man one women), a man 12 and finally a 1 hdcp male. Again this year we enjoyed Heron Bay a lot. No matter what your hdcp, it is a challenge.Hard to stay out of the bunkers as they are very well placed everywhere. You must be precise. Greens are true and putts go in if you get the correct line. Not too many undulations on the greens but they are fast. We played on 3 3/4 hours , great fun. a must play if you are in the area. And at the Premiere card rate.....what a deal
Challenging course value for money
Challenging corse, value for money but too many 4 balls going out at very limited tie slts causing back log on course
This course is the best around South Florida
This course provide one the best course layout in the area. Green fees are the best. The staff are friendly and efficient.
Great course to play
A pretty straightforward course without the trickery. But sufficient hazards to get you in trouble.
Noticeable Improvements
I played here in May 2013 and thought the course looked pretty shoddy, however because I live close by, I tried it again last week (October 2013) and it had taken a turn in the right direction.
My biggest complaint is that there are too few rakes for the amount of sand at that course. If you have never played there, you might not understand, but there is an awful lot of sand at that course. I found myself using a foot rake b/c there was no rake within the vicinity of where my ball landed, and I didn't want to hike fifty yards to get one.
Ok course
Not as great as it once was but still a challenge. Too many fairway bunkers remain.
Don't hit it in the rough...
Course is well maintained and a long course if you play from the blues. some challenging holes and some easy ones. Can score well if you hit the fairways here, just don't play from the rough or it will be a long day of golf and a high score. Always worth a play if the price is right, especially since it was a former tpc course and host of the honda classic for a few years.
Nice layout and lots of bunkers
Nice layout, rather easy if you can place your shot. almost all greens heavily protected with bunkers. Would play again.
Staff was friendly and courteous.
Could be better
Course maintenance seems to have gone down a bit.. Fairways have weeds and rough spots in some places. Greens are in good shape. Rough has a lot of weeds.
Good Course for price.
Bunkers galore. Fun course. Overall good value for cost. Closer proximity to my house too will be back.
This course plays tuff!
Playing my first round at Heron Bay was challenging, fair and fun! I can see how this course was a great venue for a PGA event years ago. Anyone who wants to be challenged should come out here and play a round. The tee boxes were great, fairways well kept and the greens were good. I definitely will come back.
A great place to practice and play!
Much improved maintenance since last year. Management has taken steps to improve the grounds. I wish they would remove the over use of sand bunkers. Many people I play with don't like this and hesitate to come back because of the bunkers, I believe 117 of them.
Nice course, great layout!
1st time I played this course, my friend had played it once before, from 1996 till 2001 this was the home of the Honda Classic. This is really a great setup plus cost was only $30.00. We played at 1:15 on Monday the 14th, had the course to ourselves. Greens rolled nice sandy reaps everywhere and bigger than greens, go play you won't be sorry.
The staff needs to shape up
The group in front of us had 2 holes open in front of them, RIDICULOUSLY slow.... 5 hours to finish and a Ranger never told them to move it even though they drove past a number of times.
Plus the starter never greeted us and answered questions like we were bothering him!
On top of that, a twosome tried to jump in front of us at the turn. We told them no because the pace was already terrible but who at the course allowed this to happen?
Very Enjoyable
We got out a little early. The course is in great condition. The service is even better!
Great Deal on a very Tough Course
This is a great course it is also the worlds biggest adult sandbox with close to or over 100 traps, you will use your sand wedge more than your putter, this is a professional level course the Honda Classic was here for years
To play it for $25.00-WOW
Lots of sand
This course really makes you use every club in your bag. The sand traps are placed to test your accuracy with most of your shots. I have seen this course in better shape but it still was fun to play and they are working on improvements. Since I was able to get a BOGO it was well worth the price.
