The Club at Emerald Hills

My family and I were visiting Ft Lauderdale and my son and I wanted to play a round of golf. We did not bring our clubs, but we are avid golfers. Both 9 handicaps. Golf Now recommended the course and it was described as a top favorite. Good value. Upon entering the grounds and clubhouse we could tell it was not in great shape. Always ok with an older Florida course but needs to be well maintained. The staff was friendly but didn’t have 2 sets of rentals available. We played the first few holes with one set, but paid for 2. The driving range was crap. Very low maintenance and most of the tee boxes and greens were sub par. Fairways were decent. All in all we had a good time hanging as a father and son but for the money and the experience. We wont be back.

The Staff is very friendly. There are 7 sets of tee boxes, so everyone should be able to find a length that matches their game. Pace of play was good for a Saturday (4 hours 15 minutes). Some of the tee boxes were a little rough and a couple greens had a couple bad spots, but overall the course is very nice and has an enjoyable layout.

The staff was friendly and helpful. The course was in decent shape except for the tee boxes and the range which appeared well used. The maintenance staff was busy yet, out of the way and you can see the effort is being put in to bring the course back to good shape. The bunkers were well maintained and the greens had suffered some algae damage but, they had been treated and the grass was growing back in. The layout is challenging and has several holes that can make you pay for taking too many risks. Overall, we enjoyed our experience there.

I really enjoyed this course, for the amount that I paid would say it has been the best value ever, great rental clubs (titleist t300) at only 45 usd, staff was friendly and helpful, greens are very firm and that is a challenge, specially on the elevated greens.

Greens were in great shape fairways too. Pace of play was fine. Person behind the counter in the pro shop was excellent to deal with. Overall will play again.

The gentleman at the proshop lied about not being a premier card course when it’s listed on the card and the premier card website. Refused to apply any premier card discount. Terrible misinformation on his end to just charge a higher rate. Tee boxes are practically just the markers in the thickest rough on the course. Bring long tees as the ball won’t be tee able on standard length if you’re hitting driver because the rough is so thick. Don’t wear white shoes the tee boxes are all muddy. Really bad at the moment. Not worth $120+ tax. Greens are spray painted & full of divots that aren’t maintained. Poor poor maintenance.

Course failed to let people know that they have the worst temporary tee boxes (they didn’t mention until after we paid) . They should lower the rate. If i wanted to hit off the dirt & putt on crab grass i would have gone to my local muni for $30 . Owners clearly cutting cost & not ready for the season. Very tragic & much better options for half the price. Skip Emerald for now. I have played here 20+ times & this was the absolute worst. I never leave reviews on GN so that should say it all. On the bright side they have complimentary ice & water.
