The course is not what it used to be.

It's in bad shape compared to what it used to be ☹️

I’ve played this course a couple times a year for the past 5 years or so and it’s got a great layout, but maintenance has been iffy (despite lots of crew on site). This time, the greens were the worst greens I’ve ever played on. A washboard with shag and bare spots would’ve been slightly better. Crabgrass popping up, bumpy and just awful. I’ll wait a year before I try it again. The staff were very friendly, fwtw.

Was really disappointed with the course conditions and pace of play. Tee boxes are weeds or sand. Greens in horrible condition, maintenance crew hand watering greens with large amounts of water while you are playing and flooding them. They were moving hole to hole doing this with tractor and portable water tanks. Pace of play was so bad I stopped at hole 13. Didn’t bother complaining as I wouldn’t return even if they gave me a voucher.

This is one of the best course designs in South Florida - a championship course, and it's awful what it's become. Weed and fungal growth all over the greens, tees, and fairways. Greens are like you're putting on carpet. They can't even get the tees out in the correct locations. They mowed a makeshift green for the #3 par 3 - a signature hole - since you apparently can't use the actual green.

Ownership is definitely letting it go before they go private in 2027 and undergo renovations, closing it up to the public so only the ultra-rich can enjoy it.

Great course design - awful upkeep. Putting green isn't even cut.

No complaints about the staff - they were excellent, just really bummed yet another increidble golf course is going in the trash.

Course was the worst kept up course I have ever played. It should be embarrassing to the City to charge $95.00 to play a course in the awful condition it is in. What a shame that this course has so much history and is in total shambles.

Horrible condtions on the course. Never seen weeds on the greens. Tee boxes beat up, fairways not groomed and greens by far the worst part. Never seen such conditions at any course. This used to be premium course. Somthing bad is happening there. Its a shame because its a nice track.

This course is in awful condition. The Tee Boxes are Basically Sand with weeds. The fairways were mainly weed and very little grass. The greens were awful. I can’t explain how bad the condition of these greens and course is in. What a shame that it’s not maintained and to pay $95.00 is highway robbery!! Will never play here again.

EH was a prime spot to go golfing but the course looks really rough. Fairways aren't in the best condition and greens are starting to spotty. Hope they turn it around this summer.

I had a great time playing this course. It was not an easy course nor was it super difficult. It was a good challenge. The grounds were beautiful and green. The fairways looked great. The greens were fast and in excellent shape. I enjoyed playing here and plan to come back next time I visit Frederick.

Picked this course to take my son too while on vacation from the description and information given about it on GolfNow. I understood the description as one of the nicest public courses to play in Florida. Holes 1-17 I felt like the public city courses i play at home in OKC were far better. I will say the 18th hole was beautiful and in immaculate condition.

I wanted to play a nice course.and this one fell short. Shaggy greens and poor tee boxes were disappointing. There cart paths are in very bad shape. There are several fun holes. Not enough for me to return.

Unfortunately, there is a temporary green on hole #3 that we were not made aware of until we arrived at the course the morning of the tee time. The other 17 greens are still recovering from aeration (a bit surprising as it seems it has been a few weeks since they punched, and there has been a lot of rain which should have helped the healing process). Tee boxes have a lot of bare patches. It would have been nice to know all of this before paying almost $150/person to play here. This used to be one of the top public courses in the area but I will not be coming back until the situation improves. It’s a shame because pace of play is so good, staff is very friendly, and the food at the clubhouse is so good.

The course was in good condition but the clubhouse needs to be renovated to the new millenium. Not the value I expected for the money but the staff was very nice.
