Most overpriced course in South Florida
We paid $150 each to play this course on a Sunday morning, and the conditions on the front 9 were downright shocking. My group couldn’t stop laughing at how badly we overpaid, considering nearly every other course in Miami—both at this price point and even lower—is in far better shape.
Many greens were surrounded by areas marked as ground under repair, and putting on the front 9 felt like a joke—patches of mismatched grass, sand, bumps, and weeds made it nearly unplayable (again, for $150). Tee boxes ranged from sandpits to overgrown messes. While the back 9 was in decent shape, the front was so poor that it completely overshadowed any positives.
I rarely write negative reviews, but the price compared to the course conditions was insulting. As a 9-handicap golfer who plays often, this was one of the worst values I’ve encountered.
To top it off, I tried to use my GolfNow Premier card for a 10% discount (which is still valid until next month), and they refused to honor it. Save your money and play somewhere else until they fix it up or lower the price.
Save your Money
First I give a shout out to the gentleman who greeted us. It was the best part of the experience.
The pro shop staff member was clearly not happy with her job, the day or working in general.
The $240 for two people was way way overpriced for the condition of the course.
The tee decks various lengths of grass, sand divots and tee markers were all over the place.
The fairways were okay but divots were not fixed and the greens slow and in terrible condition.
The person we played with was a regular and said since it was being redesigned next year they don’t care about taking care of it. Well there should be a warning with this booking. I paid for 18 played 9 it was that bad.
I don’t understand how ratings can be above 3 for this course.
Oh and the best part was my birdie putt on 6 while the cart girl was yelling “ARE YOU GUYS GOOD” “ARE YOU GOOD?”
Save your Money
The best part of the course was the one cart staff member that greeted us. He was polite and courteous and it all went down from there. The lady working the pro shop seemed like she was not a fan of working today. Two players $240. No golf balls to warm up with. Needed to pay for those. The tee decks were a mess of long and short grass and sand. Finding a decent place to tee up was a challenge. The greens slow and most had pitting or damage. Fairways were okay. But this course while a decent layout was in terrible condition for the money.
Heard from the gentleman we played with. The course is going to be closed and renovated next year and because of that they have stopped taking care of it.
It’s too bad this course was an option to play as the GN pics made it seem like a decent course and the price certainly made it seem like it would be good.
Honestly was the worst course I have played using the GN app. And so bad only played 9 which took 2.5 hours to play as it was.
Course conditions
Tee boxes poor. No grass on tees. Very sandy. Greens adequate. Fairways adequate
Pricey for the conditions
I thought this course was way overpriced as we paid over $400 for 2 people. Not sure if we got ripped off but we reserved on GolfNow a couple weeks out and that was what I was charged plus taxes. It looks like the prices went down as you got closer to the date. The front nine was in pretty bad shape. Parts of the greens and most of the tees were dirt. The back nine was a different story. It was in pretty good shape and seemed way better maintained. There was even garbage laying around the ponds on the front nine but that wasn’t seen on the back. Young man who checked us in at the pro shop was extremely friendly. Ranger seemed like we were bothering him. Pace of play was pretty good…waited on a few shots but not too many. Probably wouldn’t go back unless price was reduced or front nine renovated.
Overpriced In Every Way
Amazingly friendly staff however that can’t make up for the $140 we paid per golfer to spend the day on a dried out and poorly maintained practice facility, tee boxes, and greens.
Layout was fun however only got to use my driver 6 times so fyi if you drive over 250. Pace of plays is apparently 4 hours (signs everywhere) however we were 5 hours and no players assistant to help move things along. Tee boxes chopped, not level and full of sand. Greens burnt up. Beverages and food prices are sky high.
The staff sold it well with a rich history and that we would have a lot of fun but it is just not worth the green fees they are charging.
Nice course, but the facilities are lacking
For the price, I was expecting a much nicer experience. It seems like they spend their money keeping the course in good shape instead of the facilities. It is a very long course so if you want to play long distances it could be a course for you. Just set your expectations low for everything else.
Great for a twilight round
Course is in great condition. Greens are super slow and definitely need to be cut and rolled. Pace of play was pretty quick too — can’t beat $50 for a twilight, not sure if it’s worth $120+ at peak hours but to each and their own.
Big Improvement
Played for the second time after being very disappointed in the conditions 2 years ago. Fairways are much improved and greens significantly improved. Greens a little slow but hold true. Rough is the rough. Stay out of it
Don’t play at Emerald, it’s worth $8 not $130
I have never written a review but I felt this was necessary because the experience was so horrible.
Tee time 1:34 and they didn’t have carts for us so we didn’t tee off until 2:15.
We were 3 and they called us up with 2 carts ready and gave the two some behind a cart and let them play before getting us another cart.?? (Worst thing that could have happened )
The cart they ended up giving me was not one they let customers use and had mold all over the seat.
The attendant said he would bring me an updated cart and that never happened. It also had no sand to repair divots.
Also none of the carts have GPS.
You would assume the pace would have to be good but nope. 6 group pile up on the 5th hole so an hour to play just that hole.
Saw 3 rangers the hole day. On hole 2, 13, and 15.
All the rangers did nothing (1 even laughed when we asked him to ask the players in front to speed up.)
There was no players in front of the 2 groups ahead of us for 2 holes so didn’t think it was a big ask.
One ranger was a lady who avoided even talking to us and went to the bath room after we asked her to regulate pace of play.
The 2 some in front of us (father son duo) stopped to look for balls in the water (that wasn’t there’s)multiple times and then the son would drop his putter on the green and wait for his dad to get to the cart to throw the golf ball to him. On every hole!!
The greens were tore up with countless unrepaired ball marks, divots, and sand repairs.
On the 12th hole, some 2 some driving back to the clubhouse had their cart break down. I gave them my cart and the (3) of us hopped into one cart. The guys who took the cart said they would have someone bring us another cart.
Needless to say, never received my cart back and through everything we only got 17 in.
Course and staff are a complete joke and I would never play there again..
Maybe this used to be a nice course but they should feel ashamed they are charging $130 each because this is a $10 course.
Never play here.
What's with the greens???
My 1st time ever seeing the greens this slow with grass literally standing up like a front lawn. We were told they will be cut and rolled tomorrow. 🤔
