Editor's Note: Course closed and reopen as The Yards.
The Oak Bridge Club (formerly known as Ponte Vedra Golf & Country Club at Sawgrass) in the heart of Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., sits adjacent to the famed Players Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass. The 6,413-yard, par-70 Arnold Palmer design features water on every hole, tree-lined fairways and undulating greens. Oak Bridge favors accuracy and strategy over power and distance. New owners have upgraded the clubhouse and introduced a new restaurant, The 3 Palms Grille. A tennis center is home to 10 Har-Tru clay courts.

Course really needs work.
Terrible greens, fairways, tee boxes, bunkers! (Did I leave anything out?). Used to be a nice course for the money, but has really gone down hill. Do not know what's going on at this club but the course is terrible!
Course in very poor shape.
Many of the tee boxes were in poor shape, with no grass. Sand traps were not much sand and looked as if they had not been maintained. The greens were worst of all. They had been punched and sanded, but there was little or no grass on them to recover from the treatment. I was very disappointed in the conditions of the course overall.
Been playing this course for years
Best shape it has been in a while. Greens still lacking but getting more attention. Great value at $25/round.
Needs a lot of work
Played this course multiple times throughout the past few months. It has hit an all time low. Very poorly maintained fairways, tee boxs, and greens. Not to mention the rough is junk grass as well as the bunkers have weeds growing in them. You would think for a course that charges 40 dollars it would be somewhat maintained, especially being in sawgrass. It is not at all. Would not recommend playing here.
Needs word
Course needs some attention. Good layout but the greens were in rough shape and some of the rough seems like it hasn't been mowed in months.
Sanded the greens, didn't advertise.
I booked a four-some for me and some friends to play at PVG&CC at what i thought was an ok deal for a saturday morning tee time. The problem was they had just sanded the greens and did not advertise this on the website. When we saw the state of the greens on the first hole we considered making a tee time somewhere else and asking for a refund, but a couple guys had tight schedules, so we played anyway, knowing it would be impossible to actually play a game. Two of the guys stopped putting altogether after the third hole.
The rest of the course looked pretty shabby. The little things like how junky the sand rakes were for the bunkers.
I just think it should be mentioned when there is work being done on a course that makes it impossible to play a true round. Bummer.
Course is challenging
Course is challenging, but found it on Aeration/Sand day, so greens were bad. Alert was on listing so went in "eyes open". Great course, beautiful day, great partners, so good experience. Can't wait to play after greens come back. Golfer Bob.
a fun and challenging layout, but greens and fairways poor condition
this course has great potential. lots of challenging holes, and a fun layout. but, greens and fairways in very poor condition. on a Friday we almost had the course to ourselves, very sad.
Fairways in very bad conditions
Fairways with lots of weeds, looked like a potatoe field. Greens were aerated and covered with sand. Played only 9 holes due to the course's poor conditions.
alert
was not told in advance the back nine was closed i was advised course under fall maintaince but not 1/2 closed
was told to play front nine twice . would not have booked if was told back nine closed up front many other courses to choose from
Poor conditions on what could be a nice course
With some money and attention this course could be a nice tract. Lots of water and 6 par 3s, the shortest of which is about 165 yards. Very surprised with the neighborhood homes that back to the course. I always thought that Sawgrass was a very upscale neighborhood. Not so where this course is. Some home are like 1930s era cinder block bungalows. Very surprised. A better choice to play would be Windsor Park, Queen Harbor or Southhampton.
Tight layout with six par three holes.
Played on Labor Day with my son as a twosome. Pace of play was acceptable although we waited on most shots due to the difficulties the foursome ahead was experiencing - still finished in around 4 hours. Fairways were nice although rather narrow - appearing more so due to large overhanging oak branches from the large trees. Good amount of water, but easily avoided. No short par 3 holes - all playing longer than 150 yards from the white tees. Greens on the back nine were damaged. Bunkers were very hard packed made worse from the summer rains. Course would not be my first choice to play again although at $29 through GolfNow was reasonable.
Good for the price
This course was a good value. Some holes were way more challenging than others. The greens were in decent condition. Some sandy divots. Fairways were nice. The rough was thick but not in an overgrown way.
"Goat Track"
This poor golf course.....the layout is good, but it has been used and abused. The fairways and greens are in horrible condition. Restrooms on course were all closed; cart paths in shambles; and, the rough and grounds were completely neglected. Won't be returning.....
Decent round for the right price
If you can get a round here for around $22, I would say it is worth it, but there are better maintained courses for a little more money.
The greens are OK ... Many of them burned, seems like a problem with the mower or something. Some greens have some small bad areas.
Tee boxes are pretty aweful.
Good course in not so good shape.
I can't imagine paying $35 to play here after playing Eagle Harbor and Champions Club for $25.
The cart lady was very helpful!
I guess when you hear Ponte Vedra you expect certain kind of course appearance and that was not the case here. The views are pretty but the course condition was average at best. As usual, I made the best of it and welcomed the challenge of tons of water and the narrowness of the course. Overall, a good day.
First time here, nice layout, average challenge, great pace
Sunday morning tee time, first time here, purchased a hot deal. Showed up an hour early to hit balls but immediately teed off when the ranger said it was open. Not too crowded for a Sunday morning round.
Tee boxes were maintained, fairways were mown and the greens were clean cut and rolled true. Only a couple of greens had some issues on the very edge but they were being repaired. Didn't come into play. Off the fairways were weedy in spots but again, didn't come into play too much.
Played by myself, 4 groups let me play through without a problem, caught a twosome and two foursomes on 17 and finished out behind them. No problem. Finished my round in 2 1/2 hours.
Will play here often. Hot Deal is a bargain. Full price of $40 may be a little much. I'd play it for $30 or less any time.
course not in good shape at the moment 08-25-13
This is the old oakbridge course and although a fun little course it needs a lot of attention. There were almost no good lies in the fairway which had a lot of invasive grass (maybe 30-40% coverage) and the overall maintenance in general is fair at best. It was not a terrible experience or anything I just wont be back any time soon (too many other courses with better value).
This course needs some work on the greens and tees
The overall experience with this course was OK. Pace of play was excellent. Staff was very friendly. However the greens need some work as they were splotchy, had too many ball marks and the tees pretty much lacked grass in a lot of areas.
i play here every time im in jacksonville i love this layout
Great rate for the money. One of my favorite in jacksonville
