The Oak Bridge Club (formerly known as Ponte Vedra Golf & Country Club at Sawgrass) in the heart of Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., sits adjacent to the famed Players Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass. The 6,413-yard, par-70 Arnold Palmer design features water on every hole, tree-lined fairways and undulating greens. Oak Bridge favors accuracy and strategy over power and distance. New owners have upgraded the clubhouse and introduced a new restaurant, The 3 Palms Grille. A tennis center is home to 10 Har-Tru clay courts.

A shadow of what it used to be. Great layout in classic Ponte Vedra. Course not in great shape at all but still playable. Play during the week for a fast round, not weekend.
Well maintained value
Having never played this course, I had no expectations at all & I was pleasantly surprised. The course was in reasonably good shape, given the time of year & the fact that they had hosted a tourney earlier the same day. It required prudent shot placement, good course management skills, and was breathtakingly beautiful . Although there were areas for improvement (many of the sand traps were a mess, the greens had numerous ball marks, etc.), for $25 on a weekend, this was a really great find. I look forward to getting back again soon.
MID-WINTER CONDITIONS LESS THAN OPTIMAL
Most greens require water or bunker carries. Pars demand good drives and approaches. Winter fairways are bony, and fringe grasses are difficult to chip cleanly. Green speeds are predictable. Play can be slow because of foursomes with nothing better to do for the day.
GREAT LAYOUT...HAVE TO BE ABLE TO MOVE THE BALL. FUN TO PLAY.
OUT EARLY. FAST PACE. IF THIS COURSE WERE IN JUST A LITTLE BETTER SHAPE IT WOULD BE THE BEST BARGAIN IN THE AREA. THAT SAID, IT IS A FUN COURSE WITH A LOT OF CHARACTER. WE HAVE PLAYED PRIOR AND WILL PLAY AGAIN. THE PARKING LOT ATTENDANT WAS " JOHNNY ON THE SPOT ". NICE GUY , GREAT MANNERS!!!
The course is set up fairly for the weekend golfer.
Had a great time with my son on a very good golf course. Enjoyed it immensly! There is a lot of water but it is set up where you can play around it if you don't have the game to go over it. Greens and bunkers were in good shape.
Ponte Vedra G&CC
Really good layout but generally poor condition. Greens very slow with many bare patches. Tees in poor shape and did not look as though they had been cut or maintained for weeks.
Clubhouse staff poor and food very average. Barmaid completely disinterested and bordering on rude.
If this course was taken care of properly, it would be an excellent venue.
Still at $35 it was not all bad.
Slow play. Dont go on weekend.
Slow play. Would have took hours to finish. I left. Too many players on Saturday.
The course meets expectations of being challenging!
Check-in was quick and staff from starter to cart grl all very outgoing and helpful. Course has plenty of water, requires attention to distances on approach shots. Fairways and greens in great conditon for this time of year. Pace of play slowed down a bit on back 9 due club tournament, but still a great time!
Best Deal in Ponte Vedra
Challenging course, if you're not straight off the tee you're not shooting par. Almost every hole is tree-lined and/or has water. I love this course, a real gem in PVB with a price that can't be beaten. Two of us played in 2.5 hours.
Interesting course layout but they need to work on customer relations.
Sign in instructions were confusing. No carts were available - had to wait for others to come off the course in order to get a cart. Layout of the course is very interesting and beautiful but greens are in terrible condition. Staff tried to be friendly but seemed unable to get control of the situation. We were scheduled for a 2:06pm tee time but were told it was 2:15pm after we arrived. Not a big problem but part of a series of challenges to experiencing an enjoyable afternoon of golf. I think part of this was due to them over selling tee times for the day.
Challenging, nice course
The pace of play on the front nine was very slow. Supposedly caused by a club member threesome. What was as shocking was watching the member couple in front of us drive across the greens as if they were a highway. I have never seen such disregard for a golf course and hope I never see such again.
A good day of golf
Avery good of golf and friendly people at the course
Challenging Par 70 - Good Value, Excellent Customer Service
It is far better to play this course during the week than on a weekend. Having played this course 4 times now, a typical round during the week can be done in 3 to 3.5 hours unlike a Saturday under sunny blue skies and 80* temps. Some improvements could be made to the bunkers, but overall you will be enjoying a good round of golf on this challenging layout with pleasant views and friendly staff that make you feel welcome, time and time again.
Good course challenging for all players
Good course challenging for all players. Played on a perfect day it was very enjoyable. Course was in good shape. Greens were a little slow for the area
This is one of my go-to courses in Jax, so I play it quite a bit. Always well-maintained, even in the winter.
The best part of this course is the staff. Like all of the courses in Sawgrass, you can walk in off the street and they treat you like a member. I've never felt rushed on this course, and it's fun for all skill levels. I've played it before, and I'll play it again.
Great staff and ery friendly
The people were really nice and very friendly, but the course needed a lot of work. I've played here before and was very pleased with the course but this time around you could tell the course needed work. The fairways were long and had los of weeds and the greens were very sandy and rough. Some putts looked like the hole was protected by a mini bunker.
Poorly maintained.
This course has truly gone downhill this summer. The design of the course is great but...The greens are full of dirt and need to be redone badly. The sand traps are no longer sand. The tee boxes are patchy at best. Another little pet-peeve that you could possibly attribute to the course/marshall is that one group held several other groups up. They added an hour to a normal round.
Challenging par 70.
I have played Ponte Vedre 10 times. It is usually a fantastic deal that I can't ignore. Ponte Vedre is difficult. Water is on almost every hole. Usually, the trouble is on the left which is especially challenging if your draw becomes a hook. I have NEVER scored well at Ponte Vedre. Never-the-less, I think that it is a good layout that is fair. It is just lined with trouble so be prepared.
The course is maintained pretty well. The staff is professional. If you do play Ponte Vedre, play with someone whose played there--hopefully they can warn you of the problems.
If you hit stright and want to beat your bomber buddies, Ponte Vedre is the perfect course for you.
Excellent Course
Love playing this course. Lots of water and a very long course but very well kept up!
Under-staffed?
Big crowd on the day we played. I was given a cart key but the key for the on-course restrooms was missing. I was told it would be brought out to me later but it never was. The starter told us who we would be teeing off after, then put another group ahead of us and disappeared. While we were waiting to tee off, a second group jumped ahead of us. The starter was somewhere in the clubhouse. aside from all of that, the course is in pretty decent shape.
